Thanks. I just got to wait. Actually watching Mad Men on a 24 sdtv is not so bad, especially after getting the H24 for MRV.

AMC HD got added on Bell TV in Canada last December, so it couldn't be that difficult to learn.;)

I have always thought that Rainbow Media was trying to charge DISH and DirecTV more money than others because RM is owned by Cablevision and a direct competitor in some markets. DirecTV is resisting so they don't have to raise our rates again. Cablevision also owns IFC and Sundance and now HD from them either.

What we should really be worried about is Comcast buying NBC and all their channels. I don't have access to any other HD TV signals where I live but satellite services. No OTA, no cable, no FIOS, nuttin'.

iTunes is selling Season 4 in HD for $30. I'll probably buy that. P2P holds no attraction for me - legally or security wise.

Count me as one of those who wish it was in HD. But I know my friends at DIRECTV are working on it.

Dunno what the season in HD is on Amazon on Demand but it's $29.99 on iTunes.

apparently less at Amazon, accoriding to the q3 hd anticipation thread...

"How bad do you want to see S4 of Mad Men in HD?

Welcome to the world of competition via the set-top box, Tivo, Blu-ray player, etc... Amazon is offering a season pass for S4 of Mad Men in HD. Each episode looks to be available the day after it airs. You can purchase individual HD episodes for 2.99, or an entire season in HD for $14.99.

Here's the breakdown of how it works with S3.

The 14.00 is for season 3 only. Season 4 will be 2.99 per episode and you only get 5% off if you buy the whole season. $ 37.00 !

Rainbow is a subsidiary of Cablevision. "Dimhouse" doesn't compete with Cablevision in the way that D* and E* do.

Well FiOS competes with "Cablevision" and they get it, so that theory is out.

Not necessarily. How many customers directly compete with Cablevision and FIOS vs Cablevision and Satellite? Perhaps FIOS is willing to pay more in some cases as well with its limited footprint.

Mad Men is available for a small fee in HD from Amazon, and I'm sure that is legal.

As for torrent sites, well that depends on what the definition of "is" is. IANAL.

All I *am* sure of is that torrent sites put pressure on copyright owners to provide a timely product at a fair price.

Well, an SD 640x480p image broadcast on a wide-bandwidth transponder beats the living doors off of DirecTV's wretched 480x480i-then-compressed-to-hell SD Lite. Compare SD-on-HD against SD Lite sometime.

I really enjoyed the season premier of Mad Men on AMC tonight. Unfortunately, the whole world looks out of focus now...

AMC in SD on DIRECTV looked awful last night, never mind the lack of decent audio. With two of best programs (Mad Men and Breaking Bad) we can only hope the HD feed is sooner rather than later.
