Anyone know why the West Coast games are not on EI today? I can get them on the RSN's, but they are usually mirrored on EI.

If the game is shown on the local network such as your RSN it is still subject to blackouts on the MLBEI. Especially if it is a Texas Rangers game in which KTXA (an over-the-air station in the Dallas-Fort Worth DMA) has rights to 25 Rangers games in the 2010 MLB season.

Games for the below teams are:

NOT AVAILABLE in-market on the RSN.
NOT AVAILABLE as part of MLB Extra Innings.
    Team Zip Codes
    Kansas City Royals Nebraska: 69300 – 69399
    San Diego Padres Arizona: 85364 – 85367 and 85369 Nevada: 88900 – 88999
    San Francisco Giants 92328 93232 93221 93267
    92384 93239 93223 93270
    92389 93245 93227 93271
    93513 93246 93234 93272
    93514 93266 93235 93274

I THINK this goes back to when the ESPY's used to be on tape delay in years past and this was the blackout rule for that. Apparently D* is using the old blackout rule which is no longer in effect since ESPN showed them live this year.

We are getting ****ed right now!!! I am also being blacked out of the Padres/Dbacks game and there is NO reason for these blackouts!! This is NOT even a "ESPN window period"!!! This is bull****!

They are blacked out today--including on RSN, but I can not see why. Sunday Blackout do not begin until 5PM EDT.

Is there a reason for this? Usually when GameMix isn't showing the games there is some higher reaching reason why they are not being shown, other than "technical difficulties"

Like I said above D* is using OLD info used in past seasons when those useless ESPY awards were on tape delay. In those instances all games after 2pm eastern were blacked out. ESPN apparently forgot to inform D*.

Well, DirecTV's website also has the games off the schedule, so it looks like Capitalism wins tonight.

Years past, ESPN put the ESPYs on tape delay and showed them at 9pm eastern, and had the baseball game at 6pm eastern. This made all the games on MLBEI after 2pm eastern to be blacked out everywhere so there is no overlap, unless you're supposed to get those games. This year, they did the ESPY's live on ESPN on Wednesday night so the baseball game is back to the original time of 8pm eastern.

Oh, I just went to the games and they are blacked out. Doesn't seem to make any sense.

Right and I'm guessing either ESPN did not inform D* of the blackout change OR D* lost the memo.

Bingo!! We have a winner. D* is using old blackout info from years past when the espys were tape delayed. Either ESPN never told D* to go back to the usual blackout info for Sundays or D* didn't get the memo.

This whole thing is just a result of going off old data. Originally ESPN was going to show their Sunday night game at 6 and then the ESPY awards. But then they changed the ESPY awards to another night and put their game back at 8. So there is no reason for blackouts but Directv is still going off the old schedule.

What's more, the games are available via MLB TV on the internet if one has that package.
