No wonder the double compressed channels look so bad

I just converted some real videos to mpgs and avis using The EO Video Converter, and the real videos were already compressed video, and I first make UNcompressed mpegs and avis and the picture quality wasn't that bad. Then I made compressed avis using the MS Mpeg4 V1 codec I think, and the picture quality was HORRIBLE because it was twice compressed video since the real video source material was already compressed. It's no wonder that the espn and other channels that are double compressed by ESPN and also by Dish/Directv look so incredibly horrible. You should have UNcompressed video no matter how much of a bandwidth hit you take because the difference a Doublecompressed and UN compressed video is like the difference between a Yugo and a Rolls.
