hello all, gope you had a good weekend,
I noticed this last week,9or 2 weeks ago) when HD channels started airing
IF you put your online guide on & go to channel 75 it shows
TNTH, when hylited shows TNT HD,,ok/

    but
if you also go to 245 it shows TNHD, hylited it shows,

just curious how both channels can be same name, but completely different programing,?:confused: asked on another board, but NOW i know which board to ask about when it comes to DTV things..

and IF DTV is doing this-adding all the GD channels, for the end of 2007,

Just imaging what is going to happen in 2008

They are actually the exact same channel with the exact same programming. When you look at 245, you will see in the channel description that it says "virtual". This is simply a re-mapping of the channel number inside your receiver. The channel only comes down once from the satellite. Your receiver shows it in the guide both as channel 75 and as channel 245.

There are a few other channels that are the same.

    clato,
if you're using a DVR or want slightly better MPEG-4 quality, then 245 would be the preferred one over 75, so I'd delete 75 from your favorites if it were me.

    245 is not MPEG-4. It's the same as 75 which is MPEG-2.

I would still delete 75 because TNT will not stay there forever, it will stay at 245.
