Yep, DirecTV has been bringing it all month. Do you think that it can be done this time? How many channels are going to be turned on? Who wants what in HD that isn't already there? The proof will be on the standard Wednesday morning 6:00 am EDT.

The last I heard is ABC Family HD, Disney HD, Toon Disney HD, and ESPN NEWS HD will all come after the first of the year, likely February.

Spike HD is January 2008 from what I know.

So what will air on Wednesday?

I'm thinking CMT HD, MTV HD, and VH1 HD. They are already available.

I wish ESPN News HD would come earlier. That channel looks particularly bad in SD and it's one that I watch a lot.

After seeing CNBCHD and FBHD, I can only image how many stats ESPN is planning on putting on that channel at once......

How long till James Long then comes along and says the count is still in favor of DISH--or something like that? :D

And will Charlie launch one HD channel himself then in a press release up their count by 12? :p

I wouldn't be surprised if we see the NHL network during the next roll out.

I am with you on this one. 50% of my TV watching is ESPNEWS. I am just surprised as much HD as ESPN has why it will take so long to get ESPNEWS up and running. I know it all comes down to money at the end but I think they have enough.

I'm guessing that MSNBC which is moving into a new facility with NBC this week will start broadcasting in HD.

So I pick MSNBC for this week.

The fact that ch 94 is listing the devils-rangers game on Thursday night is a good sign that MSG/FSNY will launch this week.

It would be a better sign if the game showed up in one of the -1 NHL channels. I think 94 showed a game that was not on an available HD RSN this week.

I agree with most of you, ESPN NEWS HD would be very cool and you're also right that they will like use the entire screen for stats etcetera. It would be pretty darn kewl.

I am hoping that CNN Headline News goes HD soon. I watch that one a lot of the time, flipping between that and Fox News...for a somewhat two headed coin approach to my news. :D

DirecTV's website has listed channels as "coming in October" (of which by my count 5 remain to be added) , "by the end of the year" and "early 2008". It has not changed, a la the DirecTV 7S days, to "coming this fall and winter". Winter would end on March 21st.

IMHO, we will see the remaining "October" channels and then see only FSNs added for the rest of the year.

I will wait patiently. But if I were a bettin man...

I would say that this round will include:

    NHL Network (SD&HD)
    More RSN's (GO FSN-Bay Area!)

BTW...What are the five channels that are missing from what they advertised for October?
