Tony, I was reading your headlines for 4/14 and it says that OLN is available FTA for MPEG2 receivers. I am not receiving OLN as of this morning. Should I be receiving OLN? If you have any further details please let me/us know. Thanks!

OLN is not available to DiSH Network subscribers yet. The version which is FTA may be what I choose to call OLN Lite.

Great tip, Tony or John or whoever else mentioned it. I've got it on my lists now. Let's see how long it stays up.

It is assigned to Engineering and hidden to all other tiers. Regular DiSH Network subscribers cannot see it.

It is showing on MPEG2/FTA receivers. Be advised that the channel has been up for over a month.

A 301 is certainly a "Regular DiSH Network" receiver.

Just heard from a friend who has a FTA receiver. Message on the screen says something like "Get ready to spend some time indoors, OLN is coming back to Dishnetwork, NHL coverage is back April 22nd"

Great, now I get expanded cable installed 2 days ago and downgrade Dish to limited I might as well just leave it now till the playoffs are over. My dad is excited I just called him. GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, that would mean it is back a day late. 2 games on the 21st.

BTW: It is no longer in the clear.

I just got an e-mail about this too ehren. I posted the following on the channel chart:

OLN NEWS!!! Reported by Anyon that there is a slate on channel 151 that states: ""Get ready to spend a little more time indoors... Outdoor Life Network is coming back to DISH Network channel 151! Look to enjoy this year's NHL Playoffs on OLN starting this Saturday the 22nd!"

    See ya

The following are the games that Dish Network viewers WILL NOT be able to view on OLN for the NHL playoffs, because OLN and DISH decided to wait until Saturday to start OLN programming, not Friday...

    Friday, April 21st @ 7:00pm ET
Game 1: Oilers vs. Red Wings

    Friday, April 21st @ 10:00pm ET
Game 1: Mighty Ducks vs. Flames

    Ron,

    FTA means Free To Air.

A Basic satellite receiver with no decryption hardware can receive many channels from different satellites, with that said only a small handful of channels on Dish are FTA, NASA is one, and there are a few others as well but all that are FTA are only Public interest channels.

Not true. Gol TV is FTA, and it's not PI. And there are a lot of music channels that are FTA.

Ron, if you want the full rundown on FTA, drop by my site.

Just to update this thread. At last check OLN was not there. Only a DiSH Network Logo.
