I need to order the LSU-Tulane game this weekend and DVR it so that I can take my daughter trick or treating. Is there anything different I need to do in order to do this? I want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

I am fairly certain you cannot order individual games.

Is the game being shown on your local Regional Sports Network (RSN)?

So 767 is not your RSN then?

If you see this "channel is not purchased" that means it is part of a sports package.

787 is a sports PPV channel (this is an individual PPV game being carried on "Tiger Vision"). Not having purchased a PPV program, I cannot help, but hopefully this clears it up for others.

I've ordered several PPV college football games in past.
Problem was that the PPV option often didn't "show up" until shortly before game time.

Another pearl is that if you order via website all receivers get PPV. If you order on the box just that receiver will get the game.

my biggest concern is ordering it and having it record on the dvr, I didn't know if PPV were treating differently when it comes to PPV

I have ordered several PPV husker games and have been able to record using my dvr I found out if you order the game online with the directv website you can view it on all recievers in the home. If you order with remote you only get to watch on that tv.

Usually if you are in the state where the game is being played and it is not broadcast locally or nationally, it is set up as a ppv. If you are outside the state you can usually find it as part of the game plan.:)

Hey,What happens once you view the game, will it be deleted after the 24 hour period??
I mean it is a ppv correct(all ppv, once viewed deletes itself from viewing after 24 hours once you start watching program)?Or will I be able to have it on dvr for viewing for as long as I like??

Good luck finding it on the website. usually for the football games you have to either order w/remote or call and be charged $5 extra.

I just checked the website and it is showing up on 787 but no option to order, just the option to record. Can anyone else check and see if they are getting the same thing?

The game is on Oct 31 at 7pm.

Your options are to call in and order (extra $5 fee), or order on gameday with the remote (assuming you have a phone line or internet connection to your receiver-no extra fee).:)

I got it online finally this morning. It's weird my dvr is hooked up through broadband and the tests all show it is connected to the internet but I still can't order through the receiver. It's not a big deal since i got it online but not sure why its not working through the box.

Just a guess, but is it possible you have the "per purchase" limit set too low for PPV? You can check it in the Parental setups, under spending. I have mine set to $10 to make sure I don't order something expensive by mistake. Especially with the inconsistent remote commands!
