Just because you want this channel doesn't mean "everybody" does.
And just because I have no interest in the Pac-12 nets doesn't mean no one wants it.

Some people want it, and they now have an option - Dish.
If you want it on Directv you're just going to have to wait and see if they can work out a deal that's acceptable to both parties.

    Yeah, I'm here!!!

    :D

    Back on topic:

I do hope the DISH deal prods DIRECTV into coming to agreement with the PAC-12. Now there truly is a choice for rural customers (no cable access) who want the PAC-12 Network. Also, just about anyone in the country can now get it if they choose. That's a big step for PAC-12 football fans.

I'm a beaver you're a Beaver, We're a Beaver all.... When we get together.. We do the Beaver call..... Sorry I had too. Our good friend went to OSU.

Agreed, Dish getting Pac12 I think will help push Directv into getting this done.. They just have to. Please.

OK DTV, you call yourself the leader in sports telivision. Time to add the Pac-12 network. Your biggest competitor now has it, why not you?

From my experience the Beaver call is similar to the Coug call.

"Hey, get me a beer while you're up!"

    My prediction for the Pac-12 Network being live on DirecTV in HD is;

    September 27th

I'm going to be positive and say....: Deal later this week. Test channels up on Wednesday. Launch to live by Friday.

Same deal as Dish: Channel 626 for the main National Network, and overflow feeds for the Football and Men's basketball games. All in HD.

Gosh I hope you're right. But I don't like 626 as a channel location. Where do you put the overflows?

    626-1, 626-2, etc

626 was mentioned in Jon Wilner's blog by some idiot who probably can't be trusted but seems to know some inside info he probably shouldn't have released.... but it would appear that this was the channel number that was offered. No guarantees of course.

Also, GOL-TV disappears from 627 on the 13th. This may be something they have known before they moved it from 620 to 627, which makes 627 available for overflow as well.

comcast does not play fair with CSN Philadelphia ask the people with RCN cable who don't get the CSN + / TCN games. Now that may also be a point in the DISH / DIRECTV not having CSN Philly as comcast may play dirty by moving stuff to TCN or just say to get CSN P you must take TCN as well As part of a new deal.

Also fios does not have TCN HD

In no other market did comcast play like this.

Even back when CLTV was comcast only and CSN + HD was on MOJO HD (cable only)

Other systems got CSN + and CSN + HD with out having to take any other channel.

They could do that, but they would have to upgrade a lot of people with older equipment that can't do the dash channels.

redo the mapping in the 600's maybe BIG ten, PAC12 and some of the very part time FCS / FS / FSN feeds can be grouped in to a new sports alt area in the 600's.

Sounds promising, and I hope it's true, but so many rumors have been flying around that I won't believe it until I see it.

They really would only need overflow channels for football. Every home Big Ten basketball game is shown without the need for overflow channels so that shouldn't be an issue.

New channels require new equipment. It can be done. They did it for MPEG4 locals and have actually done it with exisiting channels (the racing channels, for example).

    Well, it obviously worked.
No activity in the thread for almost 20 hours, and then "Bump" happens, and sure enough 14 minutes later a new reply is then posted.

Are you getting enough satisfaction from your bumps?
    Mine lasted 14 minutes.

Yep what I figured. There really is no need to bump a thread, if someone actually has something relevant to add or ask, it will get bumped on its own. Especially a thread like this.
