Not to mention, we have all been asked to not do that! Certainly on a non-urgent matter; if the installer is on the way, that's different.

No it didn't. Bumps are only useful when a topic falls off the first page. As the entire forum was quiet today, the topic stayed high. As the poster who posted after your bump, I can tell you it had zero impact.

Perhaps only negative impact. If there is nothing new to say to the point that someone feels the thread needs bumped perhaps it is time to be closed.

Please, do not bump. If you have something to say about DISH's carriage of PAC-12 please continue ...

    Guys,

    no more bumping. Discussion only.

If I had gotten to this thread earlier, infractions would have ensued. James' instructions will be followed -- the topic of this thread is Dish's deal with Pac-12. If I see off topic posts, I will infract. Rude posts will result in bans if necessary.

Im not going back through the entire thread. How about the streaming aspect? Is it turned on yet for dish customers? Has anyone tried it out?

It is not on yet and may not be for a while.
The "Xfinity" logo was added to the login page as coming soon on the weekend. DISH's logo has not been added to the login page yet.

I have heard from the local company that installs for dish network and they said they were told by dish network that it might not happen tell Basketball season.

    Just my $.02;

But I just wonder given the tight restrictions if this thread should really be closed.

Since there isn't too much to say on the DIRECTV side of the forum about Dish getting the Pac-12 network outside of comments on if, when, and why DIRECTV doesn't have it yet in comparison.

Restricting all posts to the subject of ONLY Dish getting the Pac-12 network seems much more appropriate to thread(s) on the Dish side of the forum.

Again, not to criticize the mods., but just my take on the matter and to avoid any more needed warnings, censors and cleanups for this thread ... :icon_an:

I haven't seen it mentioned, but Time Warner in NYC won't offer the Pac-12 to commercial accounts. Spent 4 hours on the phone with 3 different reps after an install to find that out. So other than Dish (which I've never seen in a sports bar in NYC), Directv is the only hope for coverage.

Can't tell you how angry I was after scrambling to get in TWC for the first week of CFB.

Anyone know what their reasoning is for not offering it to commercial accounts?

My guess is that the PAC-12 won't allow it since it would reduce the outcry to have it added by other providers nationwide.

Maybe that is a different market that Pac 12 is trying to offer to Directv exclusively?

Or maybe Time Warner decided that adding it commercially was so price prohibitive to them they couldn't make any money.

My guess: DirecTV has 95% of the commercial accounts, and PAC12 wants to snag them as well. It isn't all that hard (nor all that expensive) to setup a second Dish on your bar's roof, and equip 3 of your 12 TV's with Dish receivers for PAC12. If PAC12 doesn't allow commercial accounts however, bars can't do this, and bars will continue to pressure DirecTV for the channel.

Cable apparently DOES allow it on commercial accounts. There have been several lists floating around on the internet with a list of bars who added cable for PAC12. Which was helpful in Arizona last weekend.

That is pretty complicated and inconsistent logic.

I would pay for the Pac 12 Network in the sports pack especially if it was all 7 channels if I had Directv. I can't see this doing much good for the Pac 12 to ever accept though. They would just piss off their own fans and they have all the rest of the providers carrying the Pac 12 Network in a basic tier for the PAC 12 regions.

I'm still wondering who this "OT" idiot is that keeps commenting. He seems to want to throw around rumors that are completely false, and nothing he has said so far has actually came to pass.

Yeah. Must be BusterAvis. But as the mods say, lets not discuss each other. :D
