Given that Rutgers is a New Jersey State University, I would imagine that, if they were to play at a off-campus location, it would be Met Life Stadium (which is in NJ), rather than any other stadiums that are located outside of NJ.

Virginia Tech has played games at Fed Ex Field, which is in Maryland.

Are there any options inside of Virginia? As far a I can tell, Virgina Tech's home stadium is the largest football venue in Virgina. But FedEx field holds about 25,000 more. So, if they want to allow for a larger crowd, it appears that their only option is to go out of state. That's not the case for Rutgers or Maryland.

Met LIfe Stadium would really be the only off-campus option for Rutgers. That said, the whole reason for the renovation of the Piscataway stadium was so that they could play all of their home games on campus.

OK, back on to the NET; only one game on it 10/5 and its Oregon @ Colorado 6p (ET), 3p (PT).
Not a lot of pressure is going to be put on D* when we're only missing one game and its a potential blow-out.

Is it just coincidence that this thread has had no posts since Lane Kiffin was fired?

    Somewhere...
It has more to do with that this subject is old news and we have moved on especially after the fact this has been going on for a year and that the title of this thread was true after Dish network add the network. I suspected all along that if it gets added it will be a couple years out, just like it was for the MTN.

Nothing is going to change until the B1G10 contract with Directv is up. I might be wrong, but I don't think I am.

I think it depends on which comes first - renewal of the B1G contract or adding SEC. If SEC is picked up by DirecTV (and I think it will be) and is basic in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Lousianna, Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas and in the sports pack everywhere else (which is what the SEC is asking for), then that will set the standard for the PAC 12 and the B1G renewal.

If so, the SEC is asking for less than the B1G has now, so it doesn't bode well for the Pac 12 trying to get what the B1G has now. If so it's likely that Directv plays hardball and refuses to carry BTN in a basic tier nationwide as they currently do but treats it as a super-regional RSN which it sounds like is what the SEC is asking for and presumably what they're trying to offer the Pac 12.

IIRC the BTN contract (and the B1G contract with ESPN) expires at the end of the 2016 season. The speculation I've seen is that the B1G will end up with around $40 million per team between the two contracts. If it isn't on the basic tier nationwide on Directv that won't hurt them much, the big thing for them is forcing their way into the basic tier in NYC, which was the reason behind the FOX deal with YES. The B1G is in kind of a unique position because they can play FOX and ESPN against each other with both contracts coming up at the same time. ESPN probably really regrets lowballing the B1G in the last contract - that's the whole reason why Delaney created BTN.

Of course, speculation can go round and round forever, but given that the season is already a month underway and Directv isn't carrying Pac 12, it is probably safe to guess that they won't do so any sooner than the start of next football season at the earliest....

And the start of next football season also coincides with the activation of D14 and the launch of the SEC network. I expect that the PAC 12 will be on DirecTV under the same terms as the SEC is by the first of September, 2014. When the B1G contract is renewed, I believe their terms will match the SEC and PAC 12.

The Longhorn network, on the other hand, will either die a slow death or morph into a Big 12 network with similar terms as the SEC network will get.

For Saturday, 10/12, we won't see:
    #5 Stanford @ Utah 6p (ET) 3p (PT)
    Colorado @ ASU 10p (ET), 7p (PT)

By the way for all you PAC 12 naysayers who claim nobody cares out there, 10/5's Washington @ Stanford game was the highest rated program on ESPN for the day, and it started at 10p ET.

Utah nearly upset UCLA last week. I think that game will draw a lot of interest.

Actually you prove our point. Any game with high interest will be on Fox Sports or ESPN.

Exactly and that was ESPNs best matchup Saturday. People will tune to those... not ASU and Colorado. P12N will be a non factor until they carry good matchups. Hmmmm... I wonder who's carrying Oregon vs Washington and Oregon vs Stanford?

And if Utah beats Stanford this week, a lot of people will be upset that they missed it.

Utah has 2 losses. One in overtime against Oregon State, and the other against UCLA last week. They were down by 7 on the UCLA 23 yard line and threw an interception with 23 seconds left in the game.

This will be a big game. There should be lots of interest in this game due to the BCS implications.

No, the point is there's far more interest in the PAC 12 than you will admit to, and that D* needs to carry the channel.
The Stanford-Utah game will be of great interest, but when the #6 largest market gets denied the ability to see its team, the ratings will be skewed downward.

Then explain Arizona State/Stanford on FOX, which earned a mere 1.3 overnight... last place among broadcast networks that day & the network’s 2nd lowest ever for a primetime college football. Want to their lowest ever? Another P12 game ... Arizona/Washington scored a mere 1.1 and 1.8 million viewers.
