If I'm paying for the CW Network should I be getting the HD feed? and not the SD feed?

If your CW is in HD and you have a package that includes HD, yes.

If your talking about the DNS CW(in the 380's), there is NO HD version...

I have CW from East (DC) and west (San Diego) and i'm paying 2.99 a month for it..I have the HD package, I was just wondering if I should get the CW HD channel from one of those feeds. My CW here in EP is part of the local ABC station that is holding out on DTV for their HD feed.

As stated earlier, there is currently no national HD feed for the CW, so until your local affiliate decides to settle with DirecTV or the CW national feed becomes HD, you will not get it.

I posted after you, sorry. I'm not sure, though. Like dishrich said, "If your talking about the DNS CW(in the 380's), there is NO HD version..."

the cw hd thing is screwed up to me. this is what I had found out last year, not sure if it still applies.
lot of their shows are produced HD but due to them being sub-channels in many markets they are broadcast SD.

Agreed, my local CW is a sub-channel and they will never go HD. It sucks!

OK, I'm going to throw another one at ya on the subject. I pay for the DNS for FOX and ABC East. Why can't I get those HD feeds?

Simple answer is that the laws are different for SD feeds and HD feeds. You might qualify for SD and not for HD.

Thank congress for making things complicated.

Because YOU live in CA, & the rules for HD DNS are different, in that you cannot get HD DNS at an earlier time zone than where you live. D* could technically allow east coast folks to get west HD DNS, but then you guys would scream "not fair", so they just made the rules the same for ALL DNS folks, that you can only get HD DNS in the same zone.

    Cherokee...
I have both NY/LA DNS feeds. I was told when I ordered them I have a choice of which HD feed to receive, NY or LA, but not both. Being in the Central zone, I chose NY.

I'll tell you what's worse. In my market (Columbia, SC) it's on it's own channel and it still is in SD. Even though the channel is HD.

yeah that would be irritating :)
but, just speculation, it seems to me there would be a chance for it to be hd at some time.

my market (Bangor,ME) as of a few months ago has NO plans to ever upgrade to hd in place.
hopefully this will change, plans are never set in stone of course.

Are you sure about that? The online channel lookup tool and several posts here would suggest that the Columbia SC market gets the CW in HD as of Thursday.
