Please explain my order to me (pic of order)

    The front panel of HD DVRs says "Directv + HD DVR", so that is referring to the DVR, not a package.

    Thanks Bob. I think I am thinking too much on this one. When I signed up for the whole home DVR I told the CSR that replacing the R15 with a R16 was not an option. Since I paid for (lease fee I think is what it is formally called) that box and have tons of programming on it for my children that moving to a R16 is a lateral move and only SWM compatible and not MRV compatible. She assured me that the box would be replaced with a MRV compatible box which means R22 or H/HR2X box and would notate in my record as such.

    I told her as long as they can assure me that is what it taking place we are good but under no circumstance do I want to waste the installers time since I would turn him away if he said the R15 would only be replaced with a R16.

    In another thread where I asked about the R22 I was told specifically that if I didn't pay for the box or have the CSR add a no charge line item for it then the tech would not install one. I'm trying to make sure that doesn't happen.

    You will get an MRV compatible receiver which is very different than a MRV capable receiver. Compatible means that it's compatible to be isntalled in a system that has MRV. Capable means it's capable of doing MRV. So if you get an R22 it's only because it was on the truck not because you ordered MRV. Chances are it will be the R16.

    Thanks Shades for your input.

    Well, when I call them this weekend to voice my displeasure with them canceling my install appointment that was earlier today that I waited around for that they need to make sure that there is a H/HR box listed instead. Sure, they added "notes" the install that they are to ONLY install a R22 or H/HR box but it is sounding more and more like it was hollow and that an installer could care less about those notes.

    notes on a work order mean nothing, the installers can only do what an actual line item tells them to do. as for your original question, you will get 1 hd-dvr and one dvr as a swap. the part that says hd-dvr offer is the actual hd-dvr line item, the one that says 'incl", indicates a billing line item to bill you for the plus hd-dvr

    Thanks. That is exactly who I contacted and it is all resolved now. The installer should have the proper equipment line items on the order now.

    I've definitely learned my lesson here. It became very clear that the "front line" CSR is worthless for anything outside the box and "notes" don't mean darn thing. That was confirmed when the guy I spoke with in retention identified all the errors with the original order. Sure, my install got pushed back another couple weeks but it was all worth it to know that it will be done right. Now I'm just hoping for a great install. It shouldn't be too difficult for the installer since all the cabling has been run. The two boxes inside should be a snap. I'm guessing he will need to replace (or modify) and then align the dish so that's the only labor intensive side of the install I can forsee.
