Thanks for the info. So if I use the wing dish for the 500+ I can use the "LNB in" on the 1000.2 to plug in the 500+ to the 1000.2? Geez I wish I had done more research before buying stuff. Last time I installed a dish it was 10 years ago. Now I am paying for it.

    Found this Dish on dishdepot.com

    http://www.dishdepot.com/dishes.jsp

DISH Network DISH500+ With NEW Integrated 119, 118.7 110 and 129 LNBF For $129....from what I have read so far the Dish1000+ reflector plate gets all 4 signals...does the 500+ work just as well? Thanks for the help!

The 500+/1000+ is the same dish, the difference is the extra LNB for 129.

Thanks so seems like Dishdepot just has it labeled wrong. They say 500+ but the LNB gets all 4 locations so its really a 1000+. Is $130 shipped a good proce for this. Anyone know any local retailers around Detroit Michigan that might sell this as well so I don't have to wait for it to be shipped and can take care of the install this weekend. Its been 2 weeks without TV already. Thanks.

Put in your address/zip code and it will show you your nearest retailers. Give them a call and ask if they have any to sell

Thanks for all your help MattG. I went to a local retailed and got the dish 1000+....well I guess the way he sold it to me was he sold me the Dish 500+ stuff and handed me an extra LNB and told me I can attach it to the LNBs. There was a bracket there and screws and everything for adding it on. He said I needed no switch with it to just plug the 129 LNB into the "LNB in" on the 500+ LNB. Today I set everything up and put the dish up. After getting it setup...I ran one wire from the 119 to the VIP211K receiver.

On the setup up screen first of all, the only thing that came up for dish options were Dish 300/500 or Super Dish. No Dish 1000 or 1000+. I picked Dish 500 and choose Transponder 13 on 119 to get a signal.

I had my skew/elevation setting done for a 1000+ dish. Since this dish is technically a 500+ with an LNB added on should I use the 500+ skew and elevation settings which are (119.8/31.7) for me or should I use the Dish 1000+ settings which are (122.8/29.2) Please advice. Thanks.

I tried today with the Dish 1000+ setting and had zero luck. It got dark so had to shut down shop for the night. Also Why is my receiver not picking up the dish as Dish 1000+ and only gives me options for 300/500. And even when I pick 500 for the dish....Under LNB information it only see 119. I though if I took one line from LNB1 it should see all 3 LNBS because of the internal switch. Any suggestions? Please advice. Already have invested a lot of time and money into this and would like it to work. Thanks.

There will not be an option for 1000+ or 500+, this is something that the receiver software does not support (on any receiver). Put it on 500, and set the satellite to 119, trans 19 or 21.

When you run a check switch test, what is showing up next to "Switch"? For the pointing angles, use the 1000+ angles that you get from dishpointer.com

Thanks for the help Matt. I tried what you said. Under the switches I see 2 Dual tunes and 1 single tuner. The best I can get it to do is...the first dual dune picks up 129 and the second dual tuner picks up 119. I can't get all four 119/118/110/129. I read that this just means I am misaligned by about 9 degress I moved it in either direction a little bit and I basically loose signal. I think I might just ask the place I bought the dish from to have it done professionally...unless if there are any other ideas of what might be going on. Thanks.

The third single LNB that can't pick up a satellite always says good connection but no signal.

It might be time to call in the pros to have it installed. Just curious, on the receiver what shows up next to "switch" when you are on the installation summary?

The place (sort of a overhanging balcony shared by 3 condo units) where I was installing my dish had two other dishes on there. Turns out there is a 1000+ dish with a DP44 switch (its the older 1000+) there that my neighbor is no longer using. The dish is decently rusted....but seems like it was professionally installed some long time ago in the past. I plugged my receiver to it today to see how much of a signal I get and it picks up 110, 119 in mid 70's....129 and 118 vary from 30-50 in strength. I'm thinking the rusting on the dish probably has to do some with the weak signal....Is there any paint I can get to repaint the dish and hopefully increase the signal strength. Else I might try to take out that dish and install mine there facing the same exact way. I'd prefer to repaint this one if possible since its already fully professionally installed.

I think the reason mine was not working is that it was lower than this one and part of the fence blocked off my dish.

The rust is probably not the reason for the low signal - it just needs to be tweaked.
