If they can do it for one day I don't understand why they couldn't go full time HD?
In regards to my OP,I watched the interview with Kim Carver live during halftime of the San Diego State @ Wyoming game on 11/1/08.She stated during the live interview that the conference did not have enough financial backing at this time to make the network a full-time HD channel. She went on to state that they were in the process of acquiring sufficient funding to transform the network into a full-time HD channel, hopefully by the start of the football season in 2009.
Basically,it's all about money,in a nutshell.
So, is there any way we can get D* to populate guide data for the games tomorrow? I can't even set up a manual recording on 616-1 because the guide data has some "upcoming: " PPV data showing. I'd hate to not be able to record this so I can re-watch it.
Is this included in the HD package, or is it part of a sports package?
I think you have to have the sports pack.
616-1 was a 1day(actually a 9hr) channel. It was an experiment for the mtn. network. They do plan on having HD full time until next year. This according to their website
I understand that, but I assumed it would be trivial to add correct guide data for the 9hr window so DVR recordings would work.
After posting this question, however, I went to directv.com and the online guide there does show BYU @ Utah for 616-1. So I scheduled a recording from there. When I looked at my DVR's gude last night it was still showing "Upcoming: <Some PPV title>", but perhaps its visible through the DVR guide as of today as well.
Correct guide data is there.
MWC Football Saturday at 1:00p
BYU at Utah is the only one with HD logo.
Yeah my guide is correct. I will definitely check it out tomorrow at 6:00 for BYU @ Utah. That is a good game.
The one-day HD sneak peek at The Mtn. will begin at 1PM ET today.
721 Channel not purchased.
721 here also
Getting the 721 message here too.
Reset does not fix problem.
Its working for me, but I'm not sure if it's because I have the Sports Package, or if it's because I'm in a Mountain West area (DFW)
Doesn't look too bad, a little soft maybe, but not bad.
Actually upon further review, the studio show on right now is very soft. Almost upconverted widescreen soft.
I am on the phone with them now, but I am on hold.
I have sports pack here in PA, and I am getting 721 message.
Just got off the phone with customer service. They said that the message means the channel is being blacked out by the network. I told her that the SD version was fine and she said that the network can selectively black out just HD is they want. Even after explaining all the advertising that the network did and the announcement that it would be on D*, she still said that she couldn't do anything.
On phone with CSR right now.
What a crock.
