You can cancel within 30 days but I don't remember anything about reinstalling DISH in the offer. The reinstall would be your dime.

I'm sorry, I find that funny. ROFLMAO.

About two years back I showed up at a house at 1pm for an afternoon install, I knocked on the door an got no answer. Looked the house over an saw an E* 500 with four leads. I called the numbers on the work order an the woman said the appointment was for after four. I thought on it an said whatever, went to the mall an watched skirt an drank coffee. At four I snatched the dish inserted a switch an hooked up the IRDs. Got the paperwork sighned, packed up my truck an handed the phone to the customer, I was ready to bounce. D* wanted a deposit.

    HeHeHe!

I knew that. I might have told her if she wasn't a beootch.

I don't get paid if the cards arn't activated.

Cost her a hundred cash for the dish to be reinstalled. I did it once she paid me.

You dish guys have got SOME legit input i agree. (hd ect)

BUT here's ya a truthful statement from a vet = Dish net will pay me 120$ more straight to my pocket (com-ish and install rate) MORE than DTV will .

Guess how many D-net's i ever SOLD in my life ? hmmmm that number would be ZERO.. even knowing the $120 goes straight in my pocket. Why? > i cant tell "Ms smith" that you wont have a problem.. Its not the truth.. so i cant say it. D-net is quite faliable from the manufactoring and design of the dish to the Ird (rec). DTV vs Dish IMO opinion.. no comparison.

As a matter of fact im going on a Sears Dish-net serv call this sunday. Heck d-net serv calls pay my pwr, h20,ect .. bill to be frank. .. Lower elevation and stacked Lnb with a 322.. ha.. a fit waiting to take place.

This comes from a guy that could put $120 straight in HIS pocket remember .. (but truth is not worth a dollar in my book nor will it ever be).. and STILL refuses to sell them(d-net).. Im the hands on guy & NOT the believer of propaganda and some more HD chan.

Dishnet technology (though getting EXTREMELY better) doesnt fancy this techs vote at ALL.

Heck look at the weight distribution of the quad stuck on a piece of plastic(yoke) and then adapted to a dish 500.. Heck the thing "flops around like a fish out of water".. its simply the laws of Physics. ie= the fulcrum and the center of weight ect.= Poor design and engineering made with plastic to adhere.

Diplexer won't work for what you are needing. That is for combining an off air antenna with the sat line, not two sat lines together. What you'd need is a stacker and then you could use the built-in destacker on the R15. But that would cost you a ton of money and it will only work on the 101 sat. You can do it with some of Dish's equipment because they have stacker/destackers built in.

Try changing the batteries in your remote to see if that improves your range. If not, exchange you ir extender for another one. It should have more range than that. I had one several years back that I got from walmart for about $30 and I used it with a range of about 50 feet.

What I was saying to you earlier is that the tech not leaving wouldn't have changed anything. You stated in your op that you asked the installer if the R15 was RF capable and it is. The RF just isn't enabled yet. Your tech probably didn't know it as this is a feature that rarely is requested and the "training video" for new receivers doesn't cover every feature, only the very basics. Which is probably the reason that you can't get a striaght answer from a csr either. The installer probably thought (as I did when the R15 first came out) that the RF was enabled because it does have the RF jack on the back of the dvr. But I do agree with you that he should have told you that he couldn't figure out how to get it to work.

Tiger IS correct.. A diaplexer WILL NOT work. It's a even/odd transponder "thing" that you'll see(even number ch vs odd # ch) to keep from going techno in words and dialect.. SOME think it works BUT its doesnt. Heck i know a HSp tech that still swears it works to this day.. bah.. it works enough to get him out the door and to hope the cust doesnt know any better OR he doesnt either for that matter. De stack.. Unstack.. what stack? he he. Forget it!..

Either get a line to the R-15 IN THE PLACE you wanted it for FULL function or play with those cones Until this software gets active and buy the "new" remote.

I gave ya the number.. now USE your voice.= simple. Defamate the install comp name in this process. heck i want to know the name NOW. I already pretty much think i know the answer but i could be wrong. I bet ya money its the DTV "chosen few" racket your a victum of.

Heck in the short time ive posted (instead of Just reading) i could make a killing here (if i had a helicopter to get to these places ).. you guys ARE victums of the "DTV way" of underqualified /Undermanned/ BUT wait they are working for those racketterrs so it must be OK .. for those "few" with the caculator and NOTHING in mind but the Greed of the bottom line. Cra zy huh?

Does this forum know that sales of New cust is down over 40%.. so the logic of cx retention and these "new aged" installers doesnt make since... EXcept for the "reapers and rapers".

Some (as a fellow tech mentioned in a thread) may view me as some disgruntled worker or something. Well .. im NOT a HSP or MSP installler. I have NO personal gain from my responses or my post. I only care to share the Truth.. nothing else.. from the inside out. I swearr (with proof not made for this forum evidently) that DTv and this HSP/MSP install thing is nothing BUT a racket. Its a shame! I personally WILL NOT step foot near the racket and choose to expose them instead. I am 100% private contractor and Proud of it!. Ive been offered management. lead tech and what evr other title these people dream up.. NADA.. not me.. i sleep well and the thought of being "part of the problem: well.. i wont be that period for NO dollar. I just run around and clean up "their mess" all week and get paid Decent to do so. I REFUSE to work for these rates and the rep i built and the tenure involved.. well i cant step near these racketeers and have PRIDE. Deception & Money is their root with each and every cust they service as the victum. No care for you as a person/cust.. but only considered as job# of 10005a ect. Heck if ya make it 60 days without a prob then what is the prob after the 60 days? hmmm.. i think that IS MORE money in thier pocket.

I invite ANY and ALL cx's who think of getting DTV to get it FROM a retailer or dealer that DOES NOT use the DTV hsp/Msp program for their installs. Heck the DTV numbers speak for themselves and there is NO compariosn in its nature either. Get a technician NOT a installer.. Its not hard to spot the difference. DTV did it.. now you guys live with it. Funny thing is MY dish has been on my roof for OVER 11 yrs.. Ive never touched it(whole system) period. Gues who installed it? hmmm.. i think that would be me. So why do i got to "ms smiths" house all week? you tell me? heck as a Patron im living witness that the system has longevity and if done right you'll never have a prob. So why do i got to a "short terrm" cust home all the time now? hmmm DID i do this like i do before March of 2 years ago????? A simple NO!!!!!!!!!!

DTV isnt creating just a new cust... IMHO they are creating VICTUMS in their "new control" with "their freinds" running the show .

Go search my other post. Do a google.. do a NRLB and Secretary of states recon of "their friends".. You'll see right befor your eyes.. Maybe call it "INsider trading" so to speak..

Like i said this "tv watching" forum has No clue. I hope to change that and "open some eyes" for "those who want to see".

Truth IS truth and there is NO substitute and/or in betweens!

See you say that but in 24 hours I have had more issues with DTV than I ever did with Dish...I htink in 2 years I had to reboot my 522 like 3 times but I never had to make a service call and I only lost signal in crazy heavy rain storms and one blizzard...I htink I can count on one hand the number of times I had the picture go out.

I just called the install company and it is in fact Ironwood Communications...was that your guess? And what number did you give me?

reead back in the post i put the cx retention ph # in there.

Guess? > nah i thought Direch-tech which is the same as Bluegrass< bruister, JBM, and every d-tech office around the country. They are the monoply racketters with ties that reach well outside the DTV world. ie my ref to the soprano episodes..

Ironwood is notorious also just not under the same strangle hold.. well not that i know of yet anyway. The secretaries states office doesnt have the SAME names listed as the principles like all the rest of the HSP do.
Like i said.. many names.. all the same people = crooks.& upper DTv knows it.
You cant tell me if these people were plumbers (as i refered) they would have the contract still with all "these leaks" and unsatified cx's. Lok how long these people have had the HSP contracts to.. Look at their serv call rates.. their cx's like You. Complaints run a muck> BuT yet they HOLD the contract while DTv burries evey body else. Ha dont get me started (again) lol.

Enron, world comm , wallmart, AND dtv.. all from the same mold Now IMO.. it didnt used to be this way either.

The service is great.. the company and their configured puppets.. well they suck! It always turns out like this too.. When there is not a fair BID on things and is just an appointment of puppets.. what do ya expect? Greed and lies take charge to feed the Greed. THE WOrking class are spit on dogs and if ya stand up.. well they just do away w/ ya.

Ok so I got a call from DTV about my satisfaction with the install...I went into detail with them about not being happy and I will also call that number you gave. Thanks. So I had an apt for a service call today and since I knew there was nothing they could do I called and canceled it...well guess what...I had 3 messages form the local guys asking when I was going to be home and then where I was,,,sounds like they came here at least 2 times. Good I hope they wasted some valuable time and lost some money. :D

I am at a loss of what to do now...the IR to RF situation is less than adequate and even though I got an email back form the logistics@directv.com email address I have received no phone call and no answer to my questions. But on the other hand I am going to have to lay out some cash to get back to Dish...I guess I really fooked up here...great. :(

Great now I am looking out at a pretty clear sky and I am watching my picture break up? WTH is going on? Seriously I am pretty fed up with DTV after about a week. Why does everyone say this is the best service? Seriously I am not trying to start anything here, I assumed that by coming to DTV from Dich that I would get at least the same reliability as I had with Dish.

Sounds like some sort of equipment issue. It take some pretty hard rain here for me to have any sort of picture issues.

I think it gets down to one thing that's been said here a 100 times (1000 times); the subs and the install job. I guess I was very lucky and had a great install. D*'s service can't be that different from customer to customer. The satalites don't move. Since i switched from E* three months ago, i've had no rain faids and resonably good service from customer service. (my complaint there lies with the phone system. I think it's the worst I've ever encountered)

E* and D* both need to have some kind of quality control over the install subs. It would seem that it would be cheaper in the long run to provide some sort of training to avoid all the calls they must get to CS and the return service calls the subs have to make. It probably gets down to the same ol same ol; not enough qualified (sic) technicians to fill all the jobs, and those that do a good job don't get recognised. When my install was made, the lead installer (there were two people here) was great, but pitty the person that gets the apprentice when he's cut loose. He connected the satalite in to the remote antenna connection on my HD receiver. This was not his first day.

Actually they do, in what would appear to be a small circle-8 pattern relative to any given position on earth. However, the movement is small and has no effect on national beams. It is possible (although very unlikely) that the movement could effect reception of spot beams if you were on the very edge of one.

Well to continue my story. Still haven't received a call form anyone at DTV regarding the RF issue on the R15 as David Hood from the logistics dept said I would. David actaully emailed me back to ask so I assume he DID pass my email along. I told him I still hadn't heard anything and again asked if the R15 was or wasn't RF capable. He finally said it wasn't which is what I had known really but wanted to know if DTV knew it or not. He said there is a plan to have it be RF capable but there is no time frame so I am assuming it may be a while.

I think I am going to call Dish and see what they want to do to keep me as a customer...maybe they want to put my dish back up for me and get me on HD service.

Well since there is something positive to say I feel I should say it. I finally got a call from DTV and they apologized that my installer said it would work and credited my account $50 to cover the cost of the IR/RF repeater. Good move.
