In the sound & vision magazine review april-may 2013 issue, reviewer kevin james states that when the genie lost power that all the other tvs also lost signal. So if the genie goes down and your watching tv using the client in another room that you will also lose power to the client and not be able to watch tv on any tv is this true?,Has this happened to anyone here?:eek2:

Clients use the Genie since they don't have tuners.
If the Genie goes down, there's nothing there for the clients.

Genie as well as my other HR's have a UPS on them as well as the TV's. This way power surges and 2 sec outages don't hurt my TV or HR and forces a 2-4 reboot.

Becomes a non issue then because a long power outage affects the whole home anyway and nothing will work.

Do you often lose power in only one room in your house?

The point being made in the review is that if you have a Genie and clients only and the Genie goes down you can not watch anything on the clients either which is correct.

In most cases if the Genie has a brain freeze the clients go out too.
