    Not that I watch this channel at all, but was curious as to why it has three channel locations? (76, 79 and 315).

    Generally it's all in the agreements. It is important to keep in mind channels with multiple channel numbers are essentially remaps, so they don't take up extra available slots on the satellite.

    I would expect channel numbers <100 to be locals. We have a bunch of local shopping channels.

    Locals only go up to 69, the 70s-90s used to be the old MPEG2 HD range. Now it's the channels that pay directv to be on the lineup or DirecTV gets some sort of kickback like commission on purchases from their subscribers. The more places they appear throughout the lineup the better chance people see them as they flip channels.

    Not sure about GSN though, it could have been a tradeoff in exchange for shutting down GSN Game Lounge.

    I don't get why its on both 76 and 79? I could see one or the other but not both.

    Add in QVC OTA just for fun, if you have an AM21 hooked up!

    Except the AM21 can't really "add in" anything which is not in DIRECTV's OTA database.

    The Genies with AM21s use to be able to, but DIRECTV will remove it once the Genies are upgraded to any of the x0700 series FW versions.

    Mine is there...

    My software has been the xx7xx or whatever you are referring to for a while. I lost other subchannels a few weeks ago. QVC was not available then on my ION station. QVC appearing on the guide with no call letters and "Regular schedule" just started in the past few days for me.

    That's interesting;

    And the FW version your Genie is on the current x700 series NR which is rolling out now, 0x0740?

    Actually, QVC is on at least 4 channels. Only 275 is QVC HD and this is their primary feed. Channels 76, 79 & 315 are labeled QVCP, are standard def and have different content that the HD feed.

    Interesting. When I checked last night these channels were SD. This morning they're HD. Hmmm.
