The recording limitation is the R22, not SWiM. SWiM can handle up to eight tuners. If you had four R22s, you could record 8 different programs at once off a single lead sent out through a splitter to the four DVRs.
Yes, the SWM sounds a lot better than having to run another cable around the house.
I do have a power inserter, all I need to get is the SWM LNB for my current satellite.
Thanks for the info harsh. Sounds like going with the SWM will way better in the long run. Like in the future when I may have to change the setup again.
ok I need some help!!! This is not my first time setting up my directv...I am trying to use my HR22 receiver in my fifth wheel and I have a standard 18in round dish. I can not get a signal..I could care less about hd tv in my 5th wheel.. I just want to watch tv..Do I need a b-band converter?
Set the dish to 18" round and multi switch.
It will only get SD channels from the 101.
Does this HR22 came from a SWM system? if it has a DECA, it must be removed. you also need to change the dish settings
Here are the steps to change the dish settings.
From the Menu
Using the Arrow buttons navigate to - select Parental, Favorites, Setup - press Select button
Using the Arrow buttons navigate to highlight - select System Set Up - press Select button
Using the Arrow buttons navigate to highlight - select Satellite - press Select button
Using the Arrow buttons navigate to highlight - select Repeat Satellite Setup - press Select button
Follow the on screen instructions and press the - Dash button
A new screen will be shown
Use the Arrow buttons navigate to Switch - then press the Select button
In the drop-down box use the Arrow buttons to highlight 02 Multiswitch then press Select button
Use the Arrow buttons and highlight Dish Type - press the Select button
In the drop-down box use the Arrow buttons to highlight 01-18" round then press the Select button
Use the Arrow buttons to navigate to Continue until you can hight light - Watch DirectTV
