If we order a PPV Event like BlizzCon, which is a 50 hour 2 day show and record it - does it work like a PPV movie?

Does it erase itself 24 hours after we first start to watch?

It's on 4 different channels at times from what we can tell, so we would tape all 4 channels and would like to watch them when we can.

    Can we do that?

    Thanks.........

It's only on 2 channels on sd and one HD.

I don't know about Events but PPV movies are 24 from when you start them.

also it's only 10 hours per day.

Thanks for your reply, but I'm still not sure if an event like this works differently than a PPV movie. I'm afraid to call a CSR and get a wrong answer, so I'm posting here.

If we purchase the event and then record it, how much time do we have to watch it? Do we really have to watch all 40 hrs + in one sitting before the time on our DVR's expires?

Usually events are treated differently and they don't expire. I have ordered UFC events in the past and they did not expire and I was able to watch them for weeks afterward. However, I have heard complaints here about a few of the UFC events not working that way and they deleted themselves after 24 hours, so it sounds like somtimes they might get messed up.

No, the BlizzCon event is not restricted to the 24-hour Pay Per View viewing limitation for movies recorded to your DVR.

So, we'll be able to watch it over time. Good news.

My daughter plays WoW, and wants the extra character that comes with this PPV event. Her birthday is around the corner, and we may surprise her with this thing.

Thank you very much for answering my question!!! :D

OK - I just went to order the event online - here is what the screen says:

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Obviously there is conflicting information here. We won't be able to watch after 6am on Saturday, which is when day 2 starts?

I just called a CSR, and she first told me that the screen was correct, and that it is $39.95 per day. When I told her that didn't make any sense, she put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back and said the event was 'two days because it goes on after midnight Friday and ends Saturday morning'.

I lost all confidence in her, but asked her about recording the event and how long I would have to watch the recording once I started. She told me (yup, you guessed it) 24 hours. I told her that was impossible to do unless we stayed awake for a very long, long time.

    We were then cut off.

I haven't ordered it yet..........

    Peachtree...
You may want to call back and speak with a different CSR.
Once you have an answer from them (if it is what you want to hear), ask to speak with a supervisor just to be sure the answer you were given is correct.

So you have to watch a 10 hour show within 24 hours? Yeah, I'm not going to be sitting in front of the TV all day just to watch one thing... I think DirecTV needs to take another look at that.

I reached a different CSR and was told the 24 hour rule is not on place for this event. Two days for $39.95, including an 'upgraded character', which I think is what my daughter really wants out of all of this.

Actually - it's 20 hours of programming. It can be watched over an unlimited amount of time.

    Thanks guys.....

Ha! We told her today we got it for her, and when I said it comes with a Chia Pet, see didn't think I was funny. :hurah::hurah::hurah:

She's thrilled about being able to watch pieces of the broadcast over time.

I can completely 100% assure you that the blizz con ppv event is not subject to the 24 hour expiration policy other ppvs are subject to, and its 39.95 for the entire event. One other tip: you need to set your dvr to record both days like a series, and be sure to watch the first day first and confirm the purchase. If you watch the second day first and confirm the purchase, then watch the first day, you will be charged twice.
