So if I have 2 HD DVRs I get that the playlist will be shared and be accessed on any TV with a compatible receiver but how does recording work - is it centralized??
So for example if I pull up my guide and press record on 4 shows all starting at 7pm will the system figure out that between the 2 DVRs on the network it can record them all and figure out which DVR to use?
Or do I still have to manage my recordings and season passes on the DVR separately to avoid overlaps and conflicts?

    Thanks!

You still have to manage recordings and season passes on the DVR separately to avoid overlaps and conflicts....for now, it might change.

I've noticed that when you watch a show on one DVR and then stop it, when you pull up that show on the other DVR it shows no record of having been watched. You have to start from the beginning and FF to where you stopped it. Also shows that have been deleted on one DVR show up in the list on the other one for hours after deletion. Not quite what I expected.

That is contrary to my experiences.

Me too, hilmar2k. I have watched part of a few shows on the Den's DVR, stopped it, gone to my room, pulled up the playlist, clicked the show, clicked Resume...boom, picks up where I left off.
