Great idea on the notation for each color. Don't know why I never thought to do that. When I did mine a few weeks back I added the Active and Format buttons to the list as well.

There are so many useful threads bursting at the seams with good information about remotes... has anyone considered creating a forum just for remotes... i.e., one for Harmony on DirecTV, one for Harmony on Dish, one for DirecTV remotes, one for Dish remotes, etc.?

    Thanks, folks. :)

The other thing that's on my front LCD page that might interest some of you are my buttons for the workaround for the lack of the dual live buffer.

I call it 2watch (™ ;)) as it isn't really a DLB and "workaround" doesn't fit well on the remote. Still, the two buttons on the bottom of my main LCD page call up sequences that are used with the workaround described in Milominderbinder2's great Undocumented HD DVR PLUS Tips and Tricks.

A couple of more screen caps might help here:

The published workaround functions normally. You go into 2watch by selecting your anchor show, the one you want to record. You press Record on the remote. You then change channels to get to your secondary show. When you first want to switch between the two, you press Pause and then 2watch anchor. To switch back and forth, you press 2watch swap. You can channel surf the secondary show and always return back to 2watch by pressing 2watch anchor. Again, I'm not changing the workaround, just its implementation.

I have played around with another version of the 2watch anchor sequence, with it being a three step command, starting with Pause, and then List and Play. If you always want both shows to pause when you swap back and forth between them, this would be a better sequence for you. I don't. Sometimes I like to keep rolling (going through commercials) on one show while I switch back to the other show. That's why I left the Pause command out of the 2watch anchor sequence. In this case, I hit 2watch swap when I go to my secondary show and 2watch anchor when I go back to the main one. The anchor show pauses while the secondary one continues to play. I do have to remember to hit Pause now and then because of this to make things work just right. It's a toss up, which way is better, and depends on your use. I may go back to adding the Pause function into the 2watch anchor sequence in the future, making 2watch more idiot-proof. It's what makes these remotes so much fun. You can play with them!

Some of you might like this trick.
