After running a free trial game in game lounge I started getting a red light about a half hour later which continuied to come on for about 30 seconds and which would reappear again after several minutes..I have never seen a red light before in the year I have had the HR20.

Cool looking isn't it. Watch to see if your phone is in use at the time the red light is on. It is probably the modem in use.

is the game lounge available on the 100 or the 700? i would think they would be available on both since the software versions are the same but when i tune to the game lounge channel it is still showing the coming soon message.

I believe that it is available on the 700, but it isn't on the 100. D* website says that GameLounge is expected to be released on the 100 in August, but nothing yet.

Once activated Game Lounge uses that red light to dial out for points purposes etc.

At least you can actually do something with GameLounge. I'm on a 100 and still waiting. Everyday my wife asks me if it is available yet. I know once it is, I will never be able to actually watch anything because she will be playing non-stop, but at least she will stop downloading games on the computer.

Have you considered ordering another HR20? If you get a -700 then the little lady has her toy and you have yours! :D

Whatever, I'll tell you the bright red light was pretty disquieting the first time.

Yeah, we're kinda conditioned to see red as a warning color.

I don't currently have a phone line connected, so I haven't had the "pleasure" of seeing the red light.
