The local cable company Suddenlink just added RedZone and had it on free preview yesterday. I scanned it in via my quam tuner. I liked the Directv version better than the NFL version. One The NFL version stayed on to the end of the Last game.

if i understand you correctly, i am totally good with that. wether i am watching the d* version or that of the NFL channel, i just want to see redzone action . . . but i don't want to pay for the NFL package.

personally i would have been more than happy to pay a fair price for the d* redzone channel, but i couldn't see myself paying for the NFL package just to get the redzone channel.

Call em and tell them you were trying to get the stand alone red zone channel, and their system was screwed up, and you want the charge removed and want the free red zone channel they are giving to valued customers.

    Worth a try.

What the deal with the professor ?
He can make a radio out of a coconut but he cant fix a hole in a boat !!

& whats the deal with the Skipper & Gilligan ?
I mean they have Ginger & Maryann runing around the island.
Im starting to wonder about this "little buddy" stuff !!

Russell Johnson's explanation was always that The Professor could fix the hole in the boat, but just didn't want to, because on the island he had no serious competition for Ginger and Mary Ann. I can see his point.

I was trying to decide this past Sunday if Andrew Siciliano was mentioning the channel numbers for the actual games more often than he has in the past, as a subtle way to "sell" the full Sunday Ticket package to people who are just getting the Red Zone Channel. Eventually decided I was imagining things.

I really doubt there are more than a few hundred people who have the stand alone RZC.

Here is the facts everyone, the 44.95 order screen you all see is the partial payment plan for the total Sunday Ticket not just RedZone channel. You will be billed in I believe 7 installments at this rate for ST. You cannot purchase RedZone channel by itself that has to be done by a CSR and it isn't that simple.

Also, the ST RZ channel is far superior to the cable networks since the cable networks only show a replay of what already happened not live action. So when you see them switch to any particular game you pretty much will know most likely its a TD or turnover where as the ST RZ is live action and you don't know what will happen.

Hope this clears things up with the pricing and the quality of ST RZ vs Cable RZ.

This is wrong. NFL's RZ does show live coverage just like ST.

We have been thru this 1,000,000,000x already / NFLNs RZ = live coverage.

Are this many people really still on weed cause lately some posts here are just out of it.

Ok didn't mean replay all the time but as you can see from this article below, a lot of the action is on delay and has already happened! And of course the cable company will say "or nearly so" to cover their a** I have seen it and it does show a lot of delay and a lot of live also. Just trying to show the difference between the two.

Cox Cable adds NFL Network RedZone channel
    August 24, 2010 | 12:13 pm
Cox Cable, which covers much of Orange County and San Diego, will begin offering the NFL RedZone channel this football season. You must have the digital tier that includes the NFL Network to get the RedZone, which will cost $39.99 for a season's pass.

The NFL RedZone shows every touchdown of every team live (or nearly so). When a team gets inside the 20-yard-line (the "red zone" in football talk), the RedZone channel goes to the game. The channel is broadcast in high definition and is hosted by Scott Hanson.

But the "nearly so" (same issue) applies with the ST RZC too. If it's a long bomb, you probably won't see it live on ST RZC - you'll see it a minute or so later in a highlight. Except for the announcers, there is virtually no difference between the 2 products.

Thats total bull....they must be jimmy carters speechwriter too.
As red said the amount of live action on the 2 RZs is basically the same.

I've been enjoying the RZC for several weeks, as one of D*'s "valued subscribers". Tied to channel 703 is D*'s Sports Pak channels (the 600 block). I think what may be happening is that E* offers the NFL RZC as part of their regional sports networks offering, which costs $10/mo. Can anyone getting the free D* RZC confirm this?
