Slight problem, now the activity since last bill screen is shortened so you can see what the line item listings really are.
It used to have details as to what they did or added to your account. Now it just says one word.
example: when I got credits it detailed them, now it just says credit.
example: when they added Direct on Demand to my account it said new DVR service or something like that and a Zero change. Now it just says Charge and a Zero amount.
I have a very large LCD.
I would think they could make it so you could click on it and see what you could before.
This screen is important when you change packages or sign up for new service.
I was able to go here and find a $32 BILLING ERROR and fix it with a call before my real bill came in the mail.
Your missing the fact that that choice is only available IF you have paperless billing! A couple of days ago, I could see my itemized charges - now I see CHARGE!
This is what is under "view bills": Paperless Billing:Not Enrolled Enroll to View Bills Online
So this is a lame attempt to force people into paperless billing to see their charges online? I guess I'll be waiting until my paper bill comes.
Every single credit card and online company I order from has statement/invoice viewing EXCEPT D* now it seems!
I too HATE the new D* site. It a lot more cumbersome to navigate.
Account activity option is now USELESS! I want to know WHY I have a credit or charge! I have found several errors in the past using the recent activity function.
"Remember Me" is to remember your email address, not necesarily your password. If you'd like to be auto-logged in, use the password manager built into your browser.
1. It takes FOREVER for a new page to display. ONLY the DirecTV web page now seems to operate in snail mode.
2. Much old detail is no longer available as mentioned in this thread like everything being either a "charge" or "credit" instead of exactly WHAT it is.
3. Just for fun, I clicked on "view/change programming" and this came up:
"You are currently subscribed to a package that we no longer offer, however you can choose to retain this package if you like." Followed by a button highlighting "keep package".
Really? I have the FAMILY package. Meanwhile, wondering if the packages all changed along with the web site, I clicked "compare packages". Hmmm, for a "discontinued" package it's the first one that displayed.
4. You don't get as much profile info. In the old version, you could see your privacy setting and change it if you liked. Not any more.
5. I'm tired of twiddling my thumbs watching that stupid logo that looks like it's enclosed in a 1950's-era globe filled with fake snow that gets "shaken" over and over. Who came up with this, that old fossil Maltin?
Oh, well, now when I wonder what "charge" or "credit" means, I'll just jam up their phone lines. Hope they put a bunch of extra customer service reps on duty to handle the calls from erate users who formerly could do most anything online.
I used to regularly print the "Account Activity" page just to keep tabs on their odd charge/credit system. With that function now a dropdown, it's impossible unless you extract the data, paste and edit in a WP program. Bummer.
Plus, "charge" and "credit" leave a lot to be desired.
I do like how they implemented AJAX and new javascript to make it more "fancy", but did like logging in at the top of the main page, and not all of the old pages (like viewing your hardware) has been updated. Will they get around to updating those also?
One thing I do not like is that “Refresh your Services” has been buried in the troubleshooting scripts. I would like to have quick access to it without having to dig through the self-help for an OSD.
Now you have to dig through Customer service -> Troubleshooting -> On-Screen messages -> For ordering information, please call customer service, ext. 711 / 721 / 722 / 745
Then finding the line in the document that says "Finally, try resetting the affected receiver by clicking here."
The link used to be right underneath "troubleshooting" why did they bury it?
I found it quite useful in the past when I had called a CSR to activate a receiver that I had sitting on a shelf in the garage. I went home, hooked it up, and then refreshed the services on DIRECTV.com. Bingo.
