I got the dreaded Code 14-129 this morning on my HR21-100. DirecTv is sending a replacement unit. My question is I have Whole Home MRV with two other units. Will this be a simple exchange plug and play or will it require more expertise like powering down units etc? Thanks!

I too am getting a replacement HR21-700. Lot of pixelation in recordings but not on live. By what I know. They give you what ever is on the truck or in the warehouse. Probably same model.

DirecTV just replaced my HR21-200 this week with an HR21-100 unit. I'm not sure what the differences are/were between 100/200/etc.

Anyone know how to dim the front panel LED's?

Press the left and right arrows on the front panel at the same time, repeatedly.

Here's a tip that could save you some frustration when trying to turn off the blue ring of lights if pressing both sides down at the same time doesn't seem to be working: hold down the left side of the ring (I use my thumb nail just to be make sure it's pressed down all the way) and then press the right side of the ring repeatedly...it should take 4 presses for the light to go out completely.

It always takes exactly four on my HR20s but often quite a few more on my lone HR21.

I'm getting an HR21-700C. Not sure what the C is.
