Our HDTV is a LG OLED 559100 1080P. We currently have a Sony 6500 Blu-Ray and I found a good deal on a brand new Sony 6700. Since our TV is 1080P max would there be any visual advantage with the 6700?

Without knowing anything on either one of them I would say NO.
Reason being that most of the time the number changes indicate more or less features that are in the player but do not affect the picture quality.

Any advantages you may find maybe feature wise, like apps, Media Share, etc. Picture quality increase will be very minimal at best.
