Yeah, I was drooling when I it earlier today. And like you said, if priced right it will sell big time. And it will lead to more cable cutting

I was thinking about this thing later today, and I'm wondering about two things:

    1) What about sound - how do you get it to your AVR if your TV doesn't have audio pass through?

    2) What if your TV doesn't have a USB port?

    Good question
    1. My receiver has a few USB's but I don't know if they can be set for video out. Maybe it will be implemented with all newer receivers
    2. I think all TV's made in the past 2 to 3 years have a USB slot, otherwise you will have to use the regular ROKU

As HarpoonIPA pointed out, this is not USB, it plugs into one of the new MHL ports which is HDMI + Power etc. so you get audio and video combined. If you don't have MHL ports, you can get a powered MHL-to-HDMI adapter but at that point, you may as well get the regular Roku box. This is really only an attractive option for a new MHL-enabled TV.

My question is about how to get high quality audio to an AVR with this device. My guess is that most TV's with the new MHL port will also have an audio pass-through of some sort.
