Yes, but not last week, or by the time I thought it should have come.

Thanks for the update Doug, and thanks to the rest of the mods as well as Directv for allowing me the opportunity to participate in the trial. It has been a pleasure participating with all these fine folks.

The first time a pull is requird and I'm out of town with no access to my HR2x systems. I guess I'll have to wait until next week.

    +1!

I've been in several field trials now, and this one was the most satisfying experience yet.

Now that the boxes are (almost) mainstream, I anticipate that the remaining nits will be worked out quickly (for those who just arrived, the HR24-500s aren't quite up to speed with the rest of the pack for Media Share and there have been some issues when used with a AM21, but just about everything else has caught up to or surpassed my HR20 and HR21).

Finally, got to change my setup. It sure looks good!

Have not been able to spend much time in here since work has been my main distraction lately.

Lot of new things seemed to happen quickly!

Thanks Doug, Mods and trial dudes and dudettes. As a grad of Group 3, I gotta say these boxes are sweet! And work sweetly together! :)

They must like you still. I waited about an hour and didn't see it last night so I pulled it again.

It was a pleasure for me to test the H24. So much that I went out and got an HR24 as soon as I was able. Wow, that thing is fast!

I've tried to stay current with DIRECTV equipment. I'm glad I kept upgrading to the newest technology, starting with the 5 LNB dish and MPEG-4 receivers. I didn't need to do it, but when I saw how networking was being utilized, I got rid of my HR10-250, R15, H20 (good thing with that one, that I got an H21-100 as a replacement right when MRV was starting).

By doing this, I qualified for field trials, and have been able to keep right on the cutting edge, Hx24 among others. I can envision a future setup of an HMC, an HR24 and an H24 that would take care of all of my needs. Until the next advance.... !

    Thanks again for the privilege!

In the test market, you can buy an HR24 from a local provider? or you ordered from DirecTV?

I tried to order from DIRECTV, but that didn't work (installer brought a non HR24). So I called back and the CSR recommended shopping locally to get a specific model and he gave me a list of stores. The first one was a Walmart, the last three specialty satellite stores/installers. The last one on the list had HR24s in stock.

That's great. So you were able to buy an HR24 for $199 locally?

Yes. The price through DIRECTV was $195.01, which included a delivery/handling fee and a $40 discount/credit. The local price was $216 or so with tax, so not a huge difference. The place closed at 5 and I was able to get the new box installed and activated in time for the CE download.

It sounded like it would be no problem to get another box if I were so inclined.
