My HR24-100 came this morning. It's fast! :) That's the good news.

MRV wasn't showing up, so I did a reboot to see if I could force a new s/w download (it had a November build on it... F352), but I was unable to do an 0-2-4-6-8. Wouldn't take.

After 3 tries, I let it finish booting and now I'm stuck at the part of sat set-up where you need to call DirecTV for authorization. I tried refreshing services a couple of times, but no go. I PM'd Doug.

Dolby Digital was "off" by default on my HR24-100.

    It defaulted to a slim-5. I have a slim-3.

I have a Yamaha RXV-2600. The AV1 remote code doesn't work. Z9 code does tho (for volume). Will only power off tho, not on.

Thanks to Doug, DirecTV just re-auth'd it and it's now receiving satellite info. Woo hoo! :)

I cannot setup multibox setup, it will not let me enter the dash using the rmote or front panel.

Please do not try to do multiroom until you get the first software push.

I wonder if the HR24-100 serial port is a "development unit" only feature?

I can't even if I want to. :) No menu options for it. Just the "old" network set-up menus.

I didn't try EDGECUTTER either. Should we on these?

I noticed no MRV option, I am still trying to do the remote setup for side by side boxes.

    Setting it up now. :)

Have connected the FT AM21 to it. It detected it upon bootup and prompted me to set it up now or later. I picked now. Took a little bit to find my market. Currently getting guide data. :)

So since I'm still a few days out, here's my plan:

    - Bring it up as is, no AM21. Kick the tires for a day or so and see how it works as is.
    - Hook up AM21 (Are there any length rules for the USB? I'm looking at putting the AM21 inside a cabinet) and set up my series links.
    - After the next push hook up the Linksys WGA, test MediaShare, DoD, and MRV

I will be hooking up my AM21 to it tonight when I set it up.

Just tried my speed test. Average of 3 runs is 10 seconds with the old, November s/w on the HR24. That's compared to about 15 seconds average for the HR20-700 with the latest CE, so 1/3 faster... so far. Sweet!

Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing there's a "Don't take it apart" directive on these. :)

Yeah I never bothered to test at all. It flows by so fast, especially with Scrolling Off, that I can't even read it. To coin a phrase, it just works. :D
