Same here in NorCal, as well as a blank screen on FSNPHD (628-1)

Remember guys, this is just a part time channel for games only. There isn't *supposed* to be anything there other then a blank screen and no sound or maybe a slide with some music. Distorted sound is probably something they need to fix, but a blank screen is not as it's a part time channel only.

Think how channel 94/95 is used for games.

Only problem is FSMW is only doing 10 games in HD and 2-3 are already gone by...next one in HD is November 21! Oh well, at least we have the channel!!
    Go Blues!!!

What areas get FSN Midwest 647-1 without being in the Premier Package?

Well, you DO understand that even WITH the Premier pkg, you do not get any of the professional sports, unless you are in the local coverage area. (of which Chicago is NOT) Considering that most likely the only things in HD will be actual games for now, this means only the areas that do get the professional coverage now in SD.

FSN Midwest has full & partial coverage in across several states - in IL, it's pretty much most areas south of I-80, but there are exceptions, since it's all by zip code.

I am in Indianapolis and I get 647 currently. When I tune to -1 I am getting Searching for signal on Satellite In 1 (771) - also for In 2.

Is this what everyone is getting - or are you getting just a black screen (like 648)? I do get all of the new HD channels (that I am authorized for) that I expect - so this the first time for 771.

    Thanks
    Bill

Yes, I am getting this also. The way I understand it is the only time we will see programming on 647-1 is when they are broadcasting a game in HD.

Ok thanks - wasn't sure because a couple of people reported at least one infomercial. Maybe that was just a test signal. Hopefully they'll put something on soon :)

I was kinda hoping to see the Blues game show up in HD. Kinda sucks that they only air some of the games in HD. Oh well, at least the channel is live.

Shouldn't there be some college football games in HD as well? Like the game last week between MU and OK? Instead of having to pray that channel 95 would carry the game, sounds like it would now be a given that it would be on 647-1 correct?

Ummmmm, I'd like to know where MSG Network is ... I see the logo on the D* promos on the internet and in the commercials.

Praying to the D* Gods to please bring us MSG in HD!

The Guide said that the Oklahoma - Iowa St. game was to be in HD on this channel 647. Yet the broadcast was not in HD even though the guide and program info show the HD symbol. Anyone know why? I called DirectTV twice and they have no idea.

Question: due to the lack of HD Blues games on FSN midwest the rest of the year, I was wondering if we'd be able to tune into blues games in HD on other regional HD channels?

For example, on Oct 25th the Blues play at Columbus. According to the schedule (they wouldn't let me post the link b/c I have less than 5 posts, but just go to the schedule on the official Blues NHL Website), the game is on FSN Midwest, but is not in HD. However, the same game is on FSN Ohio, and is being broadcast in HD. So, will I be able to tune into the FSN Ohio HD broadcast and watch the game? I'd gladly exchange home announcers for HD picture....

I'm not sure, but it may be possible if you have NHL Center Ice. Having Sports Pack will not give you access. I know we in St.Louis would only get the FSN Midwest feed.

Being in SW Mo. may work for you....
