Does anyone have any firmer ideas on when this will be available? This would be very benficial to me as I travel often. The dishonline website has said coming soon for a long time.

Thanks in advance for any updates on this feature.

    "Soon."

It should still be coming but it has been a long time in coming. Hopefully the delay means that DISH is just working to get it right.

I saw a message last night on the screen saver when I shut off my 622 saying that if I hook up my receiver to a broadband connection I can program it via the internet today!

There has been no hard news since they deployed the features to beta testers about a year ago. That beta test only ran for a couple of weeks and then it went dark again.

Mine too! However this was between reboots. Not to get off on a tangent, but my 622 was rebooting itself every couple of minutes or even seconds after displaying programming. I left it unplugged over night & all is well now. However, that program online message no longer shows up. I thought I might have been seeing things.

Press the power button on your remote. While the receiver is in standby you can press the left or right navigational buttons to cycle the messages.

"If you have high-speed internet you can schedule events on your receiver from the internet. Connect your receiver's Ethernet port to your router then visit DISHonline.com to activate this feature"

Looks like something in the screen saver was added prematurely. Like others have stated above. They had a field test and after that things have gotten quiet. Hopefully it will eventually happen.

That looks like the old one that DBSTalk users were asked to help test last year.

I setup my Linksys router as a bridge so I can connect the receiver to broadband hoping to use this feature. Looks like I will have to wait :(

This is just rediculous!!! Is this such a hard thing to do? The technology to program a DVR over the net has been around for YEARS!!! Doesn't seem like it should be too difficult.

No question that Dish really dropped the ball on this one. Charlie is out of touch.

It's probably tied up while the lawyers go through the programming code line by line.

We wouldn't want another infringement case now, would we?

A little birdie told me that there has been a significant amount of progress recently. Not ready for prime time yet, but getting closer.
