"Zac, The typical defects that have occurred with other animal clones is Obesity, Diabetes, the whole gamut of typical diseases. If it is true and was defective, it would probably get Rhumathoid Authritis at the age of 25 or Parkinsons disease at the age of 30. Would that be the "Monster" that should be put on an island to die? "

Not to DIE. Even if it is a monster, I'd want it to be somewhere, in isolation, where it could access food and water. It should NOT be put in our jails, and I don't believe in the death penalty - even for a genetically created monster. Anyways, the monster I was thinking of was not a person with diseases. I think we'll all be incredibly lucky if that's all that happens. I'm thinking a cold, heartless, souless killer whose only instinct is to destroy everything in sight. Probably not too likely, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Hmmm.. Amazing how Hitler was looking for a substance that wasn't even discovered until 1953 (DNA)

"Rage, so did aliens REALLY genetically engineer life on earth? What star system are they from?"

They are fallen angels from Heaven.

Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

There is no doubt who the sons of God were in the OT. They were angels no debate.

I believe there was a verse in the OT which mentioned which blood line Jesus would come from. This is why Satan tried to genetically alter the human race to try to save himself from certain destruction.

Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Again, it’s clear that these fallen angels screwed with us.

Gen 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

The word perfect means in Hebrew: tâmý̂ym
    taw-meem'
From H8552; entire (literally, figuratively or morally); also (as noun) integrity, truth: - without blemish, complete, full, perfect, sincerely (-ity), sound, without spot, undefiled, upright (-ly), whole.

Some people think this family was the only pure race of humans left in the world uncorrupted by Satan and his fallen angels at that time. So, yes, we were genetically engineered in the past and we are now being genetically engineered by these same bastards.

If you follow the new-age movement and crackpots like Art Bell and others... they are expecting “higher” beings that will save the human race form ourselves. They will get their wish but they won’t be saved and they will be demons (OT: sons of God) who will torment us like in the day of Noah.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

When you hear about something from the government it's at least 30-40 years old and perfected, period. History is on my side. Roswell was 30-40 years old in the 1940's here and it was more advanced in Nazi Germany so don't try to be cute with me.

When the government says something is in development it's in its 3rd or 4th generation and it's perfected. What part of this don't you people understand? How long do you think the F-117 Stealth fighter and the B-2 Stealth bomber been around until they told you about it? 20 years at least. The same with cloning. The so called "aliens" from Area 51 were probably clones in the 1950's.

Why would it turn into a Heartless, Souless monster? While the DNA would be identical to someone else, would it not have it's own soul? Don't artificial insemination (whatever they call egg and sperm combined in a petrie dish) created children have a soul? Twins have two different souls even tough identical DNA? If anything this child might be mentally retarted, maybe as bad as the most severe mentally retarted children. I see that as a much greater chance of happening than a sci-fi "Souless killer".

I'm just saying that whatever it is, it deserves the same level of love and or support than a child brought with the same afflictions brought into this world naturally. The scientific consensus is that because of the chances of these human defect the child should not be brought into this world, but if so deserves the same human rights as any other child.

This is one NUTTY forum. One guy wants to imprison a baby on a deserted island----not even a Gilligan or a Mary Ann to take care of her. Another guy uses the bible to prove that the Roswell aliens are clones. But at least he does not listen to cracpots like Art Bell He listens to his shoe apparently but not Art Bell.

He makes more sense than the 99% of the GDP who get most of their news from the TV.
And thinks Bush is going after Saddam and Iraq because of weapons of mass destruction.
    LOL!

People around here make fun of Zac but it is obvious that they have affection for him. They were kidding him and the comments about Bush and Saddam are totally unrelated to the topic at hand.

Anyway have a great new year Roger!

"One guy wants to imprison a baby on a deserted island"

Not at all:) I have zero desire to imprison a BABY on a deserted island. I don't know what the first "human" clone will be. If it is indeed a human baby, with a human soul and emotions, then I will most certainly support it being allowed to live in society. I do think the child, if one is created, should be kept under close supervisions.

However, I don't know what genetic damage happened to this creation. I also don't know if it has God's blessing to be in this world, a soul - only God knows that for now. I envision a possibility of a creature much like Stitch from the movie "Lilo and Stitch", with the exception being the happy ending. Happy endings are for Disney movies. I don't know what will happen. If it is a monster, then I think imprisoning it away from civilisation is acceptable. If it is a child, she should be carefully monitored to make sure that she is healthy, and that she does not become a danger to society.

The whole cloning thing bothers me. It seems like we are doing something we really shouldn't. It all looks harmless now but in the long run I see it polluting the genetic pool. Who knows what sort of mutations or diseases could be a result of this experimentation. Very scary.

P.S. Please keep this discussion civilized. Thank you.

Chris, Actually there is a greater chance of "Polluting" the genetic pool from some of the Genetic Engineering starting to go around. Now that they know certain diseases are on certain genes the attempt to use chemical to change the genes is becoming more common. Or the use of Genetically Engineered crops. Much of this experimentation is new, but it is probably more dangerous than cloning.

Was looking for an article about deaths resulting from G.E. medicines http://www.i-sis.org.uk/GMhumans.php

    http://www.genewatch.org/

At least with cloning the intent is to maintain the Genes of the originator by injecting them into "Blank" cells. But the Genetic Engineering is intentional modification of genes in order to bring about certain characteristics, that is where we need to keep our eyes out.

The group that thinks the aliens bio-engineered us is the Raelians (sp?)

The don't believe that they were fallen angels or non-fallen angles, but actual extra-terrestrial beings.

As far as a movie - take a look at 6th Day (Arnold Schwartzenneger) for an intersting possibility for cloning.

The Raelian cult sounds not far removed from the "Church" of Scientology cult.
