    How???

They didn't take anything away, so how does the appeal go down?

If you buy a car you want for $25,000 and the dealer now adds a potato pealer to the deal, do you say "Now the car is not as appealing?"

It is NOT YouTube. YouTube has any old garbage anyone wants to post. The shorts are selected.

Shorts can be wonderful. They can be crap. Movies can be wonderful. They can be crap.

I want to watch the channel and judge afterwards.

I watched about 10 minutes of this channel this morning. I didn't find it the least bit interesting. As for HD Extra, I feel it is worth the cost. I dont really watch movies on it, but have watched "Becker" reruns on Universal HD, and occasionally enjoy the Smithsonian channel. I think my wife watches that Hallmark channel some to but not sure if that's a base package channel just listed in that area or if it is HD Extra.

I think you do care. As you posted.

And I care that when I see a stupid statement, I will call it out. The guide tells you nothing. I wish it did. Because I would like to seek out the Oscar nominees and winners and watch them on this channel. If they just had a show called "Oscar winners of 2010" I would record it.

You left out Starz. I didn't want you to offend them.

All channels in that grouping are HD Extra channels.

I would think that a person doesn't join and post in discussion forum without the slightest inclination that others might have opposing views.

Then use those indicators to explain to us how the addition of channels to the HD Extra package has not increased its value. If the package went from having five channels to nine channels...without a price increase...how exactly is that not added value?

Let's say you go to the store to buy a bag of potato chips for the family. You only have two options. There are only two bags left and they contain the exact same product. They are both being sold for the same exact price, $2.00. One bag is 15 oz and the other is 25 oz. Is the larger bag, at the same price, not the better value?

Agreed ... I've watched 2 shorts so far and 1 stunk, but 1 was funny.

While I welcome the additional of (almost) any new HD channel, as a non-premium subscriber, this channel is completely underwhelming. Especially when you consider the non-premium subscribers will likely have to wait another 6 months to a year before seeing another channel added.

Count me as among the disappointed.

They are probably big hitters among what is left...maybe not when compared to the entire pool of HD channels. With the exception of a few...we're getting to a point where we will be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

This is really great stuff! Living in a small town we don't get "art house" films or much variety other than what they show at the 12-plex. This channel offers VERY interesting short films, with unique points of view. If you don't like one of them, just wait 20 minutes and you will see something completely different. Might alter your view of the world.

Sure beats another bloody sports channel or more "reality" TV.

I don't. I don't see clamor for them here or from my friends. The only one that can be considered mainstream is E! Maybe OWN when Oprah moves her show there. DIY, NatGeoWild, TCM, HI are definitely niche.

When bandwidth is at a premium, any channel that isn't decided plus decreases the fundage and bandwidth that could be used for one that is.

Obviously, but you do seem to think others should follow your opinions. :)

And for the record, I have no opinion on you either. I don't know you. I have an opinion on your posts. I largely disagree with them.
