IMS Showcases were a Music Choice thing and went away when it did.

Referring to the showcases in the DirecTiVo menu?

They are stll there, although as usuall mostly just advertising. There is one "MagRac" or something similar that has a fifteen minute program on pets/dogs.

...and of course an ad to go buy the "Black. White." FX program on PPV two days before it airs. Think I'll just wait and TiVo it later...

Yes the DTivos do still have their Showcases but that feature is not yet activated/coded/tested (choose you own term here) on the R15 so nothing on the R15 at this time for Showcases.

No. Some are just basically infomercials for products (cars, bose, etc.) while others are advertising for either regular or premium channels. For example, HBO has its trailers and the like for many of its programs (Sopranos, etc.) For the olympics they had 15 minute summaries of various sports, notices to download summaries of the previous days events, etc. Same goes for the NFL (summaries and notice to download a summary of a specific game).

Basically the showcase may refer to an upcoming movie release with a trailer or the same thing for a "new" PPV movie. Just to clarify, the showcase itself is never PPV in the sense that you have to pay just to see the showcase as some could interpret the question.

Ok, so sometimes there is free stuff in there. I just an HR10-250 and the only thing I've seen in there is the Sopranos and the Black/White thing.
