When I play sirius music on Dishanywhere the bit rate shows as 168 kbps for those who asked.
Same thing when DirecTV carried XM stations--much better sound than on my XM receivers. And, DirecTV's signal was more than ten seconds ahead of what was broadcast on the XM receiver. Less buffering, I suppose.
I was wondering what was the bitrate for the siriusxm music channels now I wish they would add a lot more to our lineup there is pop2k,groove and the 31 online music channels that need be added and then I will be happy with siriusxm music channels we need a polka and a rockabilly music channel this would be great for us folks this music. thanks allen bluegras
I rely heavily on my Dish receiver for Sirius programming in the home. I would dearly love to see 50 The Groove added to the lineup!
keep requesting the siriusxm music channels you folks the more the better also I want to see a rockabilly and a polka channels if siriusxm music doesn't add them to their lineup I want to see dish network create a rockabilly or polka channels thanks
siriusxm sucks in my opinion, i dont know how they are surviving with pandora and iheartradio around
we need a lot more siriusxm music channels added to our lineup.we had at one time pop2k and the groove and now they are gone I wonder what happened?we need the internet music radio stations from siriusxm there are about 31 music channels that would be great for our lineup.how would you like mandatory metallica and many more.
Because you labor under the misapprehension that Internet access is available everywhere; it is not, especially outside major cities.
There is also very valuable XM/Sirius-only content such as "Nancy for Frank" on Siriusly Sinatra.
what siriusxm music channels you would like to see added to your lineup you know which ones I want so bad.
The station I want added is The Village (folk music).
I wish we had the talk stations
I would like to see the village added also along with pop2k,groove and the other online music channels too.
Thanks to this thread I checked my car's Sirius radio. 10, 11, 12 & 50 were added, so scratch my comments about the XM only channels, at least with these 4.
I started listening a little bit to Z100. It's a local station in NYC - with commercials (even though sometimes the commercials are removed like an online version of the station, some still get through or they are added by SXM like they do for the talk channels).
this is what you need to do to get more siriusxm music channels you need to get in touch with DIRT and request they that add more siriusxm music channels.
I talked to one of the members of dirt and he is getting some requests for polka and some other music channels this is what I need for you to do you can contact Mike at this email address ]Michael.email@example.com put your requests in more music channels from siriusxm or dish music channels
The talk stations are copyrighted.
Polka?!? First you would have to convince Sirius XM to add the channel. I live in a metropolitan area that used to support 2 "ethnic" FM stations (where polkas were a mainstay). Those days are long gone (yet the ethnic population continues to grow). The problem is when you say "Polka" it means different things to different people. If you are from Chicago it's Polish style, Cleveland is Slovenian style. Search for Polka on You Tube and you get a lot of German style videos. It's hard to format just one station and there is no support for 3 different stations (i.e. all the Country, Hip Hop,and classical let alone the various rock and pop formats on Sirius XM).
The best place to look for a Polka format may be on the internet,
I listen to the polka jammer network on the internet and they have all different types of polkas and it would be nice to see a polka channel on sirusxm I have been trying for them to add one to our lineup and I am having problems there is a polka show on rural radio called mollie B polka show I asked her a while ago if we could see a lot more people to ask for a polka channel on siriusxm the more interest to more polka music she thinks we could see a polka channel on siriusxm we need someone who can put up the big bucks and buy a channel on there.also I have been trying to get dish network to create a polka music channel with their dish music channels it will be nice to see if they could create one.i know a lot of polka bands would send their music to them and get airplay.
Dish does not create it's own content (outside of the "chats" and how-to videos). The "Dish Music" channels are actually Muzak's channels. If there were enough business establishments needing Polka background music, Muzak would provide it. Actually they may do, but in an alternate delivery system. I was in my local bank branch over the weekend and saw that they used a Muzak produced audio CD. They had just changed the disc for Christmas. I was surprised that they did not have a satellite dish for their BGM system. Just about all the rest of the businesses in the area have them.
Growing up in an ethnic family I know that Polka fans are very picky. You don't dare play a polka in any other style than the one they prefer. I have a friend who plays accordion, He ethnicity is half Polish, half Slovenian. He only likes Slovenian style - he said Polish style is "too sloppy", and he's a musician! I can't see a station mixing up the styles. OTOH if the station was a multiethnic/multilingual station like we used to have back in the 60's and early 70's then the styles could coexist but only in separate program blocks.
