I have the older Total Choice Plus package. What is the specific channels that are different than the current Choice Xtra package?

I recall that CBS College Sports was missing from Choice Extra, but that has changed so AFAIK, there is no difference currently other than price.

    Okay Channels are:

    306 HDNet
    274 Ovation TV
    338 Gospel Music
    415 ONCE Mexico
605 ? Not seeing this one
    359 Fox Business
    313 Jewelry Television
    281 HD Theater
    800's all Radio channels

I am not sure what 605 is? I actually get 281 as part of Total Choice Plus (with HD), so aside from HD Net, not much to gain?

Where did you get that info? I have Total Choice Plus with HD Access and I get every single one of those channels you say I shouldn't get.

The person who said Total Choice Plus and Choice Xtra are the exact same thing was right.

we get everything in total choice plus with hd as axtra gets the only differents is the price. Hope we can keep our grandfathered package as long as we want and save the few bucks bill to bill.

To recap, there is absolutely NO difference channel-wise between the two.
The ONLY difference is TC+ is $3 LESS.

Also an FYI - unless D* decides to phase this pkg out altogether, you should NOT loose this pkg, even if you upgrade equipment. I have several clients that have upgraded equipment recently (HD, added receivers, etc) & NONE of them lost TC+ in the process.

Every receiver I have currently is post-TC+, and I've had no trouble hanging on to the package.

This is a little OT, but close enough (I think). I have TC+, to which I later added HBO. I want to drop HBO, but the rules seem to say that if I drop an add-on (e.g. HBO) then I have to select a new package. Meaning.... I need to go to Choice or Choice Extra and pay the price increase by losing my grandfathered package. Business is business, and as a die-hard capitalist I am not going to argue with their right to set any policy they want; however, this seems unfair and would lead to a customer revolt. All I want to do is revert to my original package by dropping the HBO add-on. Has anyone had any experience negotiating these terms?

That's true if you want to make the change on the Directv website, but I and others have been able to add or drop premium channels on a grandfathered package by calling Directv.

I have an old total choice whatever and recently started getting DIY channel, I never used to get this channel, I am a sucker for home improvement shows as my house is a fricking disaster. Must have been some sort of software change, my receiver is 5 years old.
