Slightly OT. I have three HR20-100s (owned) with 2TB internal drives with a lot of shows to still watch. How long do I have to activate the new HR44?

    Thank you,
    Kevin

I thought I remembered someone on here saying that you have 30 days to activate it.

Thanks, TRP. That's what I thought I remembered. I tried searching, but activate as a keyword brings up a lot of threads.

still waiting for mine, ordered it the first day they became available. Their website now says "In Stock", yet my order still hasn't been fulfilled, very disappointed...

And Weeknees has it in stock for $50 cheaper now, I could probably order it from them today and get it before my order with Solid Signal ships.

I don't like to brag but I didn't need to order through solidsignal as I got a free upgrade from D and techs are installing HR44's
So it worked out well. I can't believe how fast they are in terms of remote response, and I'm on SWM so no more BBC's.

Weaknees has units that have bigger drives (for more money, of course). Getting one of those is still a lease so is the bigger drive being put into it blessed by D*?

No, it is not blessed by DirecTV. If you read the fine print, you have to deal with Weaknees if you have any issues with a box they upgraded.
