Why does Dish list two software versions for the 522? Is it a Tuner 1/2 thing?

    Current
    522 L1.65, L1.62 5/7/2004, 3/4/2004
    Previous
    L1.61, L1.60 1/15/2004, 12/20/2003

I hope this is good, I have the L153 update for my 322 and it is terrible, it must've been one of those trial things that you mentioned. the 322 worked just fine before L153, but now the timers dont work anymore, hopefully things will be fixed with L154...

as boba said - if they list 2 versions - then That's how to tell that the newer one is only a "test" version and NOT officially released to all the receivers.. (but rather went to only some selected.. more likely randomly.. receivers)
...older one though.. is the official one.. (aka "wide spread" to all the receivers)..

The day when say they ll start to list only one version for .. say 522 ..say that L1.65 - that will be the day the newer goes officially to all the receivers .. "wide spread'

My 522 has L1.65. So far the only difference I have noticed is the guide is a bit faster. Still no Customer Support enabled button in the Menu. Gonna have a go with some of the bugs I noticed in the previous version.

I'm happy to report I have not been able to duplicate the bugs I saw in the previous version of the software. So it seems Dish has been at work on this one. But the only real "upgrade" (so to speak) is the guide moves a little bit faster. Still no single mode, customer support button, PIP, etc.

    Presence,

Can you please tell me if the audio still drops out after you un-pause a program? And also, does your audio sometimes make a loud static/popping noise after you use the 10 second back button (if yours ever did that). Thanks!

My 522 never did any of that... it's worked great since I got it and it updates just fine. The 322 has had some 'freezing up" issues, but that is quicky fixed with the good ol reset button :)

I, also, have never been able to mimic these problems. No matter how "intense" I would get on the DVR, it always worked just fine. I have not experienced the problems with the Tuner 1/Tuner 2 issues, either.

Sometimes I wonder if some of these problems truly are software related, or have something to do with the hardware itself. As in, some people get a good batch, some bad.

I have the 154 software version and I'm happy to say it appears they fixed the timers. I'm exceedingly thankful that perhaps tomorrow I won't have to cycle my 322 on and off to get it to work properly again. Good news for us ReplayTV owners (possibly TiVo as well).

L1.54 and L1.65 - went "wide spread" now...

Those versions should be available to all 322s and 522s receivers now

Yes, but rarely. When this occurs, you just have to hit rewind, the play again and the sound comes back. This only happens two me while I am recording two different programs at the same time, while playing back another two programs at the same time (4 distinct programs, 2 recording, 2 playing).
