I`m somewhat confused on what Dish is doing now moving their channels around. I see that the Springfield and Knoxville channels are gone. Now are they gone or are they coming back or what? Thanks K

They are not gone ... they moved to spotbeams that only cover their own area.

James, another question, will there be more channels coming down the line with I guess the national spotbeams? K

The big push right now is populating more than 100 potential spot transponders on E10 with locals ... emptying both SuperDish locations and (eventually) pulling all markets off of the wings. A Dish500 will be able to pick up all locals (within their own market). This is taking transponders AWAY from 'national' use. Fortunately there were a few already used for locals. But they still have room to add new national channels when they are developed.

Most new HD will be on 129° and 61.5° (some HD locals will be on E10, where space allows). It is a good question what E* will do with all the space being freed up by E10 spots.

Also, if they decide to orphen 148, being that HD content will be on 129 and not 148...

148° could have a second birth as a HD / HD Locals satellite for the western US. The two ancient satellites there need replacing and don't reach Alaska and Hawaii (IIRC). But mirror the national HD from 61.5° and 129° and add the HD locals for a few second tier west coast cities and you have a nice future use. (I'll make the same predictions for 105° and 121° as well, serving third tier cities with HD, eventually.)

They could just load up the space with international channels as well.

148 and 61.5 will have lots of internationals for some time to come.

    See ya

Currious question, how much international content is there that it not available on 121?

Two channels? I have not counted lately. Nearly all the channels were mirrored to 121° when it launched. There could be a couple that were added only to the wings and not 121° (other than demos) but I doubt there are enough to worry about.

Internationals on the wings and not on 121. Not all the channels listed are available to subscribers.

    INTER + (Ukrane) 579
    Ongamenet (Korea) 657
    Buddhist Television Network (Korea) 658
International 4 (reportedly showing Dubai Sports) 659
    Ary Qtv 662
    Ary "The Muzik" 663
    Alter TV (Greece) 664
    Dandana TV 672

Yep. Tony is up to the challenge ... nine stations and not all available to viewers. The way E* is doing wing vs 121° internationals on separate numbering systems just adds to the 'fun'.

The is one "PI" channel on 121, a Korean channel in English. Supposedly if you put up a superdish you would automaticaly get this channel no matter what you sub to on "regular" E*.

I wish they would mirror that channel onto the wing satelites.

There's a ton of those. I'll look at it tonight after I catch up with the chart. :) I didn't have enough time to get all the updates from last night this morning before I had to come to my "real" job.

    See ya

I'm somewhat surprised that no one has seemed to pick up that the only way the OP would even know (or care) about Springfield and Knoxville dissapearing was if his system was non-legit.

If I'm wrong, I apologize in advance.
