Im curious about stand alone too, any mods have some facts on this. I tend to believe those who think they are getting stand alone RZ at season start will not see it. I want to hear from someone with pull and knowledge!

Everyone will see it at the start of the season -- the entire Sunday Ticket package is in "free preview" mode for Week 1.

So the question is really whether or not it'll be there for Week 2.

But there has been plenty of evidence provided in this thread that it's a real thing. The best evidence is that it's an actual line item that shows up on people's billing statements.

We didn't get sunday ticket for free. We got the redzone channel for free. Similar to the $7 per month channel dish is charging for. And I was surprised to get it for free. I would have paid a little bit. I paid for premier and ticket/superfan for the last 3 years. I didn't get free hd for life yet, but I'm close.

Sunday ticket was a FREE preview for week 1 for directv subs last year.

Yea its only 1 week but it still was FREE.

Yes, there was a free preview of NFL ST that was discussed in this thread [link] last year and confirmed by Satelitteracer.

We won't know for sure until channel 703-1 is still up and running after the free preview is over. But I do see standalone RZC for 2010 as a line item on my statement.

NFL Red Zone is part of DISH's multi-sport package that has been $7 for a while.

I now see Red Zone Channel 2010 listed in my recent activity on the web site. I'm fairly confident I'll be getting it...

I called and tried to get the premier + redzone promo (exisiting customer) seeing I had family members get called for it. They couldn't give it to me so I just said "any chance I could get teh stand alone RZ w/out sunday ticket like dish and comcast have?" she put me on hold for a sec and came back saying yes she could do that. Shows in my activity as others have posted, so I should be all set.

I just spoke with several CSR's and they all said that nobody is getting the redzone channel by itself from DTV they do not and will not offer that!!! I don't know why you are posting that this is happening.

Same here. Looking forward to watching it this fall.

It is only being offered by the retentions CSRs. Say "cancel" at the initial prompts to go straight to a retention CSR. Regular CSRs are not given the opportunity to add this channel. Are these regular CSRs telling you that?

I was told the script for retention CSRs is to offer RZC standalone if one states they are going to cancel to go to a provider that offers RCZ alone (such as cable or dish). At that point a discount offer for ST is made. If that if declined than an offer of RZC standalone is to be made. In my experience the offer is also being made by retention CSRs to individuals who are polite and honest about their D* intentions. This was posted many pages ago.

You are all being hood winked!! I just spoke with a supervisor at DTV and he read me the statement that has been given to all CSR's if someone asks for the Redzone channel as an a la carte option, The statement said the Redzone channel will absolutely not be offered as an a la carte option, it is part of the ST and u must subscribe to ST to get Redzone channel. If you think you are getting the Redzone channel separate, you are seriously mistaken. The Supervisor said they would lose so much money offering this because the bulk of subscribers would just go with that option and that's why they don't offer it. Anyone saying they get RZ from DTV without ST is just stirring the pot!!!

Then why is it showing on accounts? You're wrong, and you'll see when the season starts.
