I think we need some time to celebrate and post positive messages, before its closed.
ok, here is the celebration
:allthumbs to directv for getting MSG HD, you totally :icon_hroc
,:goodjob: to everyone here who waited so patiently, time to :icon_da:
:dance01: (that is a bit excessive) Look, even he is happy :dance07: . :icon_band :icon_bb:
I'm completely thrilled! Sometimes it's the little things in life that can bring joy.
Don't get me wrong I am extremely happy, but I am waiting before I renew my Center Ice subscription for next year.
Until I see something (news article or post from Satellteracer) I wonder if this is only temporary.
Afterall I remember at the start of this season, during the Free View week, all of the MSG HD channels were operating. After everyone signed up they were removed until yesterday.
Someone please show me some proof that this is a long term deal.
Wasnt it said a few hundred posts ago that Bettman confirmed it? Not sure I would wait for a news article since I dont recall ever seeing anything in the news until this had been going on almost a year.
My bet is that it has to do with the fact that Cablevision just recently spun MSG off into its own corporation. Since MSG is no longer legally aligned with Cablevision, it's no longer in the best interest of the parent corporation to limit availability of MSG programming to other sources.
Realistically, once MSG left the Cablevision umbrella, they were open to lawsuits by MSG shareholders that they were not acting in the best interest of the shareholders.
Bettman confirmed it yesterday and MSG HD feeds were not in the free preview this year they have not been on since about a year ago when all this started ...I think you are safe on this one for the foreseeable future
I think you are spot on with all your levels of celebration and I'm right there with you!
Not to argue a moot point, but I remember the MSG HD feeds being on for the free preview in April at the start of the season. But my memory has failed me before.
The only NHL MSG HD feeds might have been during preseason on the actual RSN feeds. They haven't had MSG HD feeds for regular season games on NHL CI since before the all star game last season.
Speaking of MSG HD (which I thankfully get because it's my RSN), there's already MSG 3D:
Question though: why is it that it says you need a 3D TV to view it? Wouldn't you just need the glasses?
If your TV isn't capable of producing a picture in a way that the 3D glasses can send separate signals to each side of your brain, you won't see it in 3D. Only a TV capable of showing such a picture will work, and almost all current TVs are not "3D ready." All the major manufacturers have 2010 models that are.
And it says that game is provided by iO and iO says:
"3D TV on iO Details
3D programming available with a 3D TV on SA HD boxes only.
So the 3D picture isn't just a regular 2D HD picture?
It is hard enough to watch the Rangers play now....let alone in 3D !
That's for sure :nono2:
Fortunately, I'm also a fan of the Devils & Islanders. I know.....strange :eek2:
That's because I was following those teams on C-Band long before we got the Stars down here.
Speaking of the Islanders, are they going to be broadcasting the MSG+ HD feed tonight or is it PT from Anaheim?
It can't be PT because PT doesn't have the game (the Anaheim telecast is on a local OTA station tonight).
Gosh I love the MSG HD feeds.
I bet Dolan caved cuz they will offering an MSG-3D channel soon just like ESPN 3D and since D is launching 3D June in he wants to be on D and is making good.
