Good luck with that as far as garnering a lower price than the new lower price.
I have Dish and RED ZONE is in the sports package which is $9.00 a month.
Why not? Are they getting rid of credits altogether? Why would one's yearly quota of credits not be applicable to ST?
Credit for something unrelated is one thing...a price reduction is another.
All i really wanna do is watch my team play in HD on Sunday. With the $199 price that equals to about $11 per game to do that.... i can live with that!
That's from the Directv website.... with that said it appears that the $199 will include everything but the RZC and the TO-GO stuff??
and i thought the RZC was included into the Ultimate package?
That would depend on your team. I am a Patriots fan in NY. The Pats play 4 national games plus the Jets (one of those is included in the national games) for a total if 5 games I would see without ST. So for me it is $199 for 11 games, or $18 per game.
Nope....it also doesnt include shortcuts as mentioned in post #47.
Still even at that rate its still not to bad.. I am a Panthers fan living in PA so my choices for local coverage are the steelers (bad), the ravens (worse) or the eagles (even worse)
Oh yeah, still a good deal, and for the 10th year I will be signing up for it.
I agree about your viewing options, but I'm stuck with the Jets, so....
Nonsense. I have had either severe discounts or free ST for years. This is due to offers made to me by D* when I've called up with the express purpose of cancelling. I'm not saying it works for everyone the same, but I bet you when I get around to calling this summer I am not paying $199.
I went back and checked my statements and I paid:
$0 in 2011 for ST w/To-Go
$120 in 2010 for ST w/To-Go
With credits I paid $150 last year. I can certainly live with $199 and not have to beg for more discounts.
My NFC team is Arizona and they are almost never on national TV.
Im guessing D* wouldnt give discounts on the standard package but might on the max.
My guess is you'll be able to get the Max upgrade for free fairly easily with a phone call.
I would guess this is an experiment on D*'s part to see if they can do better with a lower base price than with a higher price that they end up spending considerable time from their very best phone reps negotiating downwards for (I would guess) thousands of customers anyway.
Now, the reality is, they're going to spend considerable time fielding calls this year anyway, and they must know it --lots of people used to years of "lets make a deal" aren't going to give up their habits without having a go. But they might at least see some trend in year one to make them feel better about year two --at least if they hold firm on not dealing much if at all.
Anyway, interesting experiment, let's see how it goes.
Me? I'll probably wait awhile and check out the experiences reported here before I decide whether to play "Retention CSR Roulette" on getting an even better deal.
But, really, this looks like pretty reasonable pricing to me without having to deal with the usual hassle.
I always love being able to see the games on my phone. Last year there were alot of issues with it. This year they want double the price for what was previously called SuperFan. What has changed to make this package worth double the amount? I dont even want the dang Red Zone Channel. They can just keep it. Making the online and mobile portion of it half the price of the season pass but requiring us to have both seems a bit out of hand.
For the price of the upgraded package difference, you can get a Vulkano and watch everything on your phone.
I love the Redzone, just hope I'm able to get that sucker for free again this year.
I only want Red Zone. I just want that. I got it free last year but I know with my recent upgrade to the HR34 (and credits on that), I know they won't give it again for free. I wish we could just get the option to buy Red Zone Channel. I'd gladly pay $100 for the season of that.
I think you'll be surprised how little they offer this year....I'm guessing you'll be told it's 199 or they will remove it from your account for free.
