Miami has soldout every game this year.
I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the Charger's home games are sold out this year. Almost half of the Q was filled with Ravens fans last game too... If there is any team that should move to LA, it's the Chargers.
Sold out? or Sold 85%?????
31 Miami 5 278,790 55,758 74.2 6 407,596 67,932 97.4 11 686,386 62,398 86.4
home games = 74% of capacity this season!!!!
capacity = 75,000+ avg this season = 55,000+
HOW MANY GAMES HAVE THEY SOLD OUT?????
SOURCE = http://espn.go.com/nfl/attendance
Doesnt matter....its still a sellout for tv purposes & thats what they count.
The numbers don't add up!
If they determine a sellout is 85% of capacity and they average 74% of capacity for 5 home games how could they have sold out all home games?
my point anyways is not about "virtual" sell outs, it is about a team not being able to draw fans to the stadium in such large markets!
Miami, Tampa and San Diego have the worst home attendance in the NFL!
If Jacksonville didn't reduce their capacity with tarps, they would be dead last. Throw a tarp over the whole stadium.
Premium and obstructed seats are not included in the calculations. If about 10% of Miami's stadium is club seating, that would explain the math. Those seats are included in the official capacity, but not the blackout calculation.
The Jags' average attendance is better than 11 other teams'.
It becomes easier to sell a certain percentage of your tickets when you reduce the number of seats available.
But there are still 11 other stadiums with lower capacities.
Yes, but what other stadium covers up large sections of their stadium seating with massive tarps? I'm saying its a pathetic team that should move to a different city that actually wants it. That's the point I am getting at.
Yeah, we got that, but it's a pretty strange point to make.
Are you saying that there are 12 cities that "don't want" their teams? If 63,700 average attendance is a sign of not enough support for an NFL team in JAX, than should those other 11 teams with lower attendance move too?
Yeah, I'm aware that PIT and CHI pretty much max out their smaller stadiums, but that still leaves a lot of other teams that can't keep up with Jacksonville on a regular basis. Most notably, that includes teams with a lot of empty seats in TB, MIA, SL, OAK, CIN, and SD.
...you are taking this far more seriously than it was intended.
Strange, because it doesn't feel that serious to me.
You guys kill me..........
Another rough week for GameMix, as THREE games will be blacked out again.
1:00 -- Jacksonville @ Buffalo
4:25 -- Cleveland @ Oakland
4:25 -- Cincinnati @ San Diego
That means just two late games on the mix.
On the bright side, the Jags have untarped a section of their stadium for their next home game against the Jets -- the second time demand has been high enough this season to add available seating, further increasing the capacity of an already large stadium.
Hilarious that it takes fan interest in the visiting team, rather than the home team, to necessitate the removal of the tarps! Move the team already! They will forever remain the bottom feeders of the AFC South.
Your argument still makes exactly zero sense.
