I've finally decided to take the DVR plunge and will be purchasing an HR24. I will only have the one DVR with no plans for additional tuners in the future. I can only run one wire from my satellite dish to the interior of my apartment, so I will be buying an SWM LNB for my slimline dish, as well. My questions - do I need a power inserter and a two-way splitter, or will a power inserter suffice? And which power inserter do I need (PI-21 or PI-29)?

You need the 21 volt PI, and there are 2 versions. If you get the version with only one coax connector you will need a splitter. If you get the PI with 2 coax connections, you will not need a splitter.

EDIT: Went and looked at mine here. I have both versions. PS-21 will need the splitter, PI-21 will NOT need the splitter.
