I currently have 3 HD DVRs with a SWM4 switch outside. I am thinking of replacing 2 of them with the genie and a client. Will the SWM4 switch need to be replaced?

Is the SWM4 just a 1x4 green label splitter? If so you could still use it or replace it with a 1x2 Green label splitter. I assume you have a SWM LNB with one wire that runs to the splitter.

You will have to terminate any unused ports on the splitter if you continue to use the 1x4.

Yes it's the green one with one cable coming from the LNB. There is currently only 1 output capped off. So another one would need to be capped for 7 tuners to work? I currently have 6 tuners.

If you keep one DVR and get a Genie with a client then three ports of the 1x4 would be used, 7 tuners total. You are correct.
