Taking the HR34 to the Internet

    You may be overthinking all this! The installer should be able to answer most questions, but as to what constitutes "wireless", once you're connected via a CCK and each receiver is DECA'd, internally in the case of the Genie, externally for the HR21S, there's no apparent other wire for the ethernetting; it runs through the coax. I hope that puts you at ease!

    Can the wireless connection kit be connected to the Genie Client in order to provide internet for the Genie and my other HR24?

    yes. the CCK-W can be connected anywhere in the SWM network

    Best to place the CCK-W in the room that has the receiver closest to the router, although I recommend a wired solution all the time

    Great post! It all makes sense now.

    If I wanted to put my new Genie on a larger TV to take advantage of PIP I used to think that it would have to go in another room where the router was.

    If my installer ever shows up I will have him put the Genie where the sun don't shine and leave the DECA enabled HR21 alone with the CCK.
