I was wondering on what satellite the $20 Dish HD pack are on?
Some channels are on 110° ... the rest are on EITHER 61.5° or 129°.
From California you would be trying to get 129° for the HD not on 110°.
I have one Dish pointed to 110/119 and one to 148. What will happen if the installer comes? I can catch 61.5 from the Bay Area, but the Dish looks like its facing straight across. I also subscribe to some internationals on 148.
"From California you would be trying to get 129°" so expect to get a Dish 1000.2 which has an input to add your 148° dish. Could be a Dish 1000 with a DPP44, but that's more expensive.
Which international channels? Some are being moved to 118.75°, so there may be a single dish solution using a Dish 1000+.
I was wondering how a Dish 1000.2 would be more expensive than a Dish 1000. I currently subscribing to the Indian Mega Pack which does not seem to have any plans to move to to 118.
Dish 1000 usually comes with a DPP Twin and DPP Dual.
The 1000.2 is a bit larger and has a 3-LNB "triplet" head.
I realized that the Dish 1000.2 does not carry the 118 satellite. Can I request for the Dish 1000+? Also, is all the HD on the 148? If that is true, I might not even get a Dish 1000.
There are a couple of old HD channels on 148° but the main channels are as stated earlier in this thread ... a few on 110° and the rest on 61.5° and 129°. RSNs and locals are only on one satellite (depends on area).
Check 118.75 here ( http://ekb.dbstalk.com/118list.htm ) and see if you channels are on 118.75.
If they are you could try to get a 1000+ to eliminate an extra dish.
