268 would make more sense (266-Bio, 267-Smithsonian, 269-History) rather than 263 (262-Soap, 264-BBC-A) but I guess 263 is close enough to similar programming.

It'd make more sense for CNN and HLN to be in the 350s or 360s too but they're not.

At least they're removing one of the duplicate feeds for Game Lounge.

Those channels along with ESPN have it in their contract that they are placed where they are to get more exposure. Otherwise they probably would be moved.

So in other words, it's pretty much like every other cable network out there with showing the same show for hours on end all day, every day? :p

It's not in HD...It's not even on UVerse's channel line up.

Doc Channel is headquartered in Nashville and may uplink from RFD-TV's studios and dish farm on Dickerson Road. Not sure but would seem logical.

When the Doc Channel began they were an OTA subchannel of the local PBS station. I think that relationship has ended.

Having access to 25 million viewers via Dish and DirecTV is a far cry from having content that any of those possible viewers may watch. Their program lineup doesn't seem to offer many programs appealing to the average viewer.

    Just my NSHO. ;)

Well SOME people like me like to actually learn something when they watch TV. Foreign concept to most I'm sure.

I shall, of course, defer to your obviously far greater intellect than mine. There are undoubtedly millions of viewers eager to partake of the programs about to come their way.

    Sounds....interesting.

I look forward to watching it once it turns on. I'll probably watch it as much as I watch A&E which isn't much, but you never know. Also, the channel might improve now that they're taking in some more money by being on DirecTV.

Their website has nothing on it about HD. The presumption is that the channel is not HD.

I am normally a total HD snob but I will make an exception in this case due to my love of documentaries. Learning and TV are a good combo for me.

I said it has run. When Doc debuted it ran as 8.2 or 8.3. I found so little to watch there I haven't checked in a while but I suspect it's no longer there.

I tuned to this channel for a bit this morning and was watching a pretty interesting documentary on NYC Lower East Side neighborhood...doesn't look like they show the same ones over and over.
