    "What’s the most important component in your entertainment center? If you pay for cable or satellite TV, it’s probably something you probably don’t even own: Your service-provider’s set-top box. And if it’s anything like the box/DVR I rent from DirecTV, it’s probably big and ugly. Sigma Designs announced today a reference design for a new type of set-top box that’s so small it doesn’t need a power cord. You just plug into an outlet and connect it to your TV with an HDMI cable. And despite its petite proportions, this new box is capable of more functions than any other set-top box I’ve heard of."
