Yep, was only referring to the when.

We fully expect all the channels referenced. Just don't yet know when.

The post was referring to the Feb 11th/12th rumor.

That is quite funny! But, you may want to clarify here. The very definition of this thread is to post opinions on disired HD... and I think there is open room for speculation here as to the 5 W's. In essence, I think the former removes the requirement for logic and sound thinking. While the latter, to at least make it interesting should have some of which you describe.

    :)

Either way, I do appreciate reading this post... because there is some thoughtful insight, from time to time, by Sat Racer, Tom and Sixto... just to name a few.... Its a great add to this thread and creates a lot of value. But the other feedback is also warranted because it is simply an opinion thread.... I for one, probably have not provided much in the way of logic and sound thinking here  .... but it is fun to speculate!

II guess I can't figure why some channels even have an HD version. ABC Family for example show virtually all SD content. Right Now as I type this, TMNT 2 is on in 4:3 SD. The only thing I ever recall being HD on this channel was The Polar Express around Christmas time.

My family watches a lot of ABC Family's original programming, and from what I've seen it's all in HD.

Thank you Sixto for referencing the 12th per the mystery thread. I updated my original post about the mystery thread (I should have, like I was going to in the first place, put the 12th).

I just love it when I get talk of Travel Channel HD going. ;)

Hutchinshouse: From what I make out of your post I quoted above, it sounds like you saw a list of coming national HD channels to D*??? Long story short :), can you PLEASE elaborate?

Not that I'm interested, but in this list you mentioned I wonder if BETHD,
MTV2HD was listed. Like it was listed on a scroll on D* webpage before. Anyways, thanks for hearing me out guys.

HD content is still in it's infancy.

As more is produced or converted (e.g. film to HD video) the percentage of content will increase.

The broadcasters are all scrambling to stay competitive. That means having a HD channel even if little is actually in HD.

The lack of content will be complained about for a while but it’ll take time for the body of content to get to a point where HD is the norm on all channels.

Out of these, AMC would be the only one that interest me. I would be willing to bet that most of those that watch Lifetime in HD could care less that it is in HD.

Are you married??? lol. My wife used to watch the lifetime channels, but hasn't watched for a while, and I can tell you, I feel safer because of that:D. but back to the point. I am sure plenty of women would love to have it in HD.

Plus, many cable companies already carry Travel Channel in HD. I know ours does. So if they already have it, they wouldn't be asking for it, putting it way down on the list.
